You're friend is right. If you just looked at the girl and she smiled for no reason at all, then she probably just getting friendly. And there's no love on it at all. Who told you it was love? It's foolish. Hahaha.

Hi Isloooboy, I don't think it means you are the biggest donkey in the universe but rather I would think you are a bit naive if you think that. A smile is a friendly gesture and it could be that she is just being friendly and nothing more. If she is at work then smiling and being friendly is more than likely a part of her job. Love takes time and a smile is just a smile....not love.

No, a girl can give you a smile just to be friendly. Very often I have been sitting in a train or on a bus and my eyes just happened to meet with those of a girl, who just smiled at me. I knew that it was just a silent way of saying, "hello" and nothing more. I would say though that in the past, if a girl kept looking at me, after smiling. I would start a conversation with her, just on a friendly basis and see where it would have lead. Your friend is right. It's the age-old mistake that boys make. A girl smiles at them, they approach them and the girl doesn't know what in the world they are talking about! Every situation is different so that isn't always the case of course. Once in a blue moon they might feel that way too... but as a rule, you should listen to your friend: he's giving good advice. The best thing to do is perhaps just try and be their friend if you are that interested in them - then who knows, maybe something will develop sometime far in the future or maybe you will just lose interest in them and discover they are not your type.
