Christmas has just past. The New year is upon us & my company is shipping out...FLIP FLOPS
Ok, I get the whole, get it out before the season , thing but it just turned WINTER a few days ago. Most of the country just got pounded by a huge snowstorm Yet here we are starting to ship flip flops to our stores so they can be on the shelves in 3 to 5 days. Not many boots going out now, we're shifing over to summer.
.
Sometimes I really have to wonder what our salespeople are thinking.
Are you ready to start buying your summer clothes yet?

Well I guess its because the boots and winter clothes are still stocked and it would be a waste to clog your stores inventories with them as they would only be sold at a discount to move the items as most people have already bought everything they need for the winter.
Summer's still far off, I agree with you, but it pays to be ready when the demand kicks in.
Just what I think your sales people are thining
For our side of the world, we don't have winter so flip flops are in an all year round inventory of most stores

It's still a little too early for it. We're going to have winter for a few more months yet. The winter gear JUST became necessary. Most of us are just now pulling out or winter stuff to see if it's usable but our stores are already pulling it back in off the shelves. They don't even give you a real chance to find out what you need.

Maybe your winter products are not doing so good compared to other products? or maybe they have already reached the quota requirements and want to start on the summer collection early. Or maybe they just have nothing to do
A lot of maybes
But yeah you are right, some people are still looking for something they need for the winter, something they didn't think they need before today and since your company has already pulled the products off the shelves they may not have the time to purchase it. I see your point.

I'm not ready to buy summer clothing, no. I won't buy any, either, because the clothing I had last summer is perfectly serviceable. I will need flip flops before the summer is over, though, as mine are 3 years old and will probably fall apart this summer. I'd rather have a nice pair of sandals but it's hard to find any that are comfortable and less than $10.
They ship that stuff earlier every year, it seems. Have to keep the consumers excited and revved up to empty their wallets!

Alright, which part of the world is your company selling flip flops to? US? Oh my...
Well, if you are anywhere near our region, then selling flip flops can be an all-year round activity and continue to be lucrative. But think of it this way, they are going to be the first to sell flip flops when people are ready to buy them.

Heck no! I wonder the same thing. I hate that so much! Although I guess it's nice in a way, because when it's the middle of winter HERE in Minnesota - and I am in desperate need of boots, jackets, mittens, etc - they're all going on clearance! HOWEVER at the same time that means that come February, there will be NO clearance left over, and if you need a pair of boots (NOT flip flops) you will be pretty much out of luck. Agh. Oh well.
