This doesn't sound right. I have about 8 domain names with netfirm paid thru paypal, and they never asked me this.

How did you pay it? I suggest you pay via Paypal, this is the safest method in my opinion. If you paid via Paypal, then they usually shouldn't ask for a credit card. But I also have already made that experience. To avoid that, you must have a bank account and verify it in Paypal. Then you are a verified member of Paypal and you have all the policies. That worked for me, and it should work for you too. But I think this only works if you haven't paid yet. If you have already paid successfully and they ask for a credit card, then I would recommend you contact these people at Netfirms if they received your payment via PayPal.

Hi ujahrman thanks for the info. I have paypal verified account and i paid them afterwards the billing department was asking for credit card info. But since i dont have a credit card and i am not interested in buying also.I contact with them and they said they will refund the amount within 2-3 days. I think i should go for domain registering at godaddy do you have any experince with them wheather they also ask credit card info after registering the domain.

That is why the world is in this financial crisis! Some people think you HAVE to be in debt all the time. Spend the money you haven't got! No money but I've got plastic! Ha, they think they are a superpower too!
