Too much stress might make a person create illusion?

I just saw that movie "Black Swan" last night, about a ballerina has way too much pressure for fighting the role of swan queen in a ballet performance, she has all these illusions and insecurity of persons around her. I just wonder, would it be possible for a person to have all these illusion if they are under such pressure? That is too sad to know, because if I knew that would happen, I would try to do something to make myself relaxed and not think of those pressure and competition at all. What do you think of it?

I sometimes experience creating to much illusions whenever I'm stress. I sometimes think of bad things when I'm angry. I think it is because of the human instinct of being aggressive at times of pressure.
Illusions can be positive or negative. It may produce additional energy or act as an agitator. If it is negative, somewhat repulsive will be the effect. But if it positive, it creates god aura of being sport or calmness or open-mindedness.
