Here it's not over yet. The decorations are still up mainly because everyone is lazy putting them down. The celebration was great though. Everyone, i'm sure, had a great time. We didn't celebrate the reunion here at our place. We visited our aunt's place to celebrate it there. The whole place was a mess after we left. It has got to be hell cleaning that up. And i just can't imagine putting up that kind of party. The whole place is a mess. We had kids there playing, grown ups drinking booze, others eating on the sofa, i'd die if i was the owner of that house.

You're right. More mess equals more headache. So you were the one who hosted the celebration? Oh it must have been so exhausting. My aunt, though, is a careful planner. She wants everything to go right, the games, the food, the decorations, everything. And at the end she's also the one responsible for cleaning it all up. Well, she has 2 maids so that'll help with the headache. But everything was just so messed up in her place i couldn't imagine myself cleaning it.

I know what you are saying, as all i kept doing was trying to keep up with all the mess that everyone was making and in the end i gave up until everyone went home.It seemned like no sooner had people left my house there were more people turning up yet again and yes yet more mess.I am glad that we can get back to a routine now that christmas is over.

It seems like there is no routine like there normally is and i get so far behind with the things that are in my every day routine.

I like a normal life, one that has a bit of routine.Trying to do al;l the things that i enjoy doing, without trying to entertain all the time.

I love the build up and the excitement towards Christmas and then I always feel like it's a bit of an anti climax when it's all over and done. I always have to find more space in the house for things that I have received, I'm not ungrateful, it's just true! My favourite thing about Christmas is about spending time with my family and being able to have a day off work. I haven't actually taken down my decorations yet but I'm going to do it this week as my cat is driving me mental!

Like you say it is one big build up and then it is all done and over all in one day.I hate all the rushing around and trying to get all the gifts to the people that they are for.It is now all calm again for another year and then it will all happen again.Love routine, my cat is the same the tree looks like it needed redoing every day, lol.

Christmas is over. I love getting back to normalcy, although I do enjoy the festive occasion as much. It's something different. When you feel that every thing is back to normal, you will be reminded of all the things you need to do - work, write, take care of the family as your priority. I take the festivities like a tiny break

I do not work, but i will say that it feels like i have done over a 40 hour week in the last few days as well as a bit of over time.I am glad that it is all over and that the tree is down and things are getting back to normal in the house and that the door and the phone is not constantly going like it has been.

Hi joy, as I told one mylotter friend, Christmas begins on the 25th of December and ends on the 1st of January. So technically, we are enjoying the only eight days of Christmas. Routine is comfortable. I like it too when I go about my way. But Christmas is made joyous when we allow others, like the children, to enjoy the warmth of sharing and giving. I am the one who prepare for others now. I am sort of passing on the tradition that my old folks had given me... make Christmas happy for the family.

Christmas is over and the feasting is likewise over. Yes, days come normal again awaiting for New Year's eve. That would be another anticipation. Preparing ourselves for the new year, doing our rituals for luck.

Hi there, Joystick Christmas ain't over yet for us here in the Philippines. We are still awaiting for New Year's day . When it is over only then we can say that the holiday is indeed over for all of us. Sometimes, it is like that. When christmas is over and everybody seems to keep busy preparing for the new year, there is a sudden coldness and loneliness. When Christmas parties are over and people are enjoying their very long holiday vacation. But the old routine doesn't sink in right away. The real grind of daily routine comes when everybody is doing what they keep on doing for the past years of their lives and that is work, work, work, work and more work...

Christmas may be over but the spiriit does not have to end with it. If we could just keep the same kindness in our hearts beyond Christmas, life wcould be enriched.

I'm too. I came back with my normal routine after Christmas days. Beginning, I feel sad. But then it's normal. I think that we love Christmas because we only have it once time a year. Right?

It isn't over yet :). There's still New Year's Eve! But I see what you mean, it's great to have your routine back. I spent Christmas with my parents who live in another town and I was so looking forward to get back home and sleep in my own bed.

New Years Eve is ok as i will pop to a friends or she will pop over here to spend time and see the new years in with me.We are both on this site, so if there is nothing much going on then perhaps we may even come on here.

JOYSTICK; Did you not know you are not suppossed to take down your decs until January 4th? Or so I've heard. Hope you did not use sellotape or Blue tack to secure the decorations to the wall paper, or else you are maybe going to have to spend money redecorating all the walls where the bits of sellotape and bluetack are still stuck to it! (lol)

I don't decorate at all and have not in a long time! It doesn't pay when no one besides myself will see it! It also doesn't help that I have lost pretty much of my Christmas spirit! I'm pretty much a scrooge around this time of the year! It also doesn't help my family never gets together on Christmas becuase they all have in-laws to visit! I am the only one not married so we alawys get together after Christmas! This year it will be on New Years Day! So my this is my Christmas story! Bu Humbug!

I am like you...the decorations are all down boxing day. I like to get the decorations up early, because they are so pretty, but soon after, I am ready to get things back to normalcy. I guess I need a routine of sorts. And the eating...what can I say? LOL

I will say that my tree is down as well, or should i say when the bins are emptied that is where the tree is going as we are getting a new one next year.I take all my decs etc down as soon as christmas is over as i think that all they do is clutter up the place.Lets face it christmas is mainly christmas day.
