My weapon of choice is justified, YOURS should be illegal

Guns, knives, pepper spray, mace, martial arts, fists, tactical nuclear weapons... When I get into discussions about self defense, I often get comments from people who think the right to use THEIR weapon of choice should be respected, but don't seem to show the same respect to YOUR weapon of choice. Some say that carrying a gun in public should never be allowed, they back that opinion with what they would use. "I train in martial arts so..." Others consider pepper spray or mace "ok", but would never want to pull a gun. I have to kind of laugh here. Each of these weapons are used to reduce the threat to themselves. All of them can kill. All of them can be used to save a life. If used incorrectly, they can cause injury or death to the person using them. What they do have in common is, they are only as useful as the person carrying them.. and only as "defensive" as the state of mind of the wielder. The idea that one is "safer" than the others, so therefore, should be allowed, while the others are banned is pretty ridiculous. All it really says is "my weapon of choice is better than yours", as if it's the weapon that matters instead of the person using it.

I do not believe in carrying weapons[ of course I'm a female]I have no martial art...but I can dish a good punch [ or so I was told] but failing that I can talk and negociate, and failing that I can scream as loud as I can or run as fast as I can [ which I don't think so]any way at the end of the day females do carry some powerful weapons in their handbags. To answer your question the weapon that's not matter! it's how you use it!
