Still not earning on Google Adsense portion

I am up to 12 articles and 30 cents on Triond's earnings portion, but have earned 0 for the Google Adsense portion. It says my account is set up and active, but I have yet to see any adsense ads (that I know of). Is this normal? Shouldn't I have earned at least 1 cent on adsense by now?
