I come across a lot of people who don't give best answers because maybe they're not aware of it but I try to give best answers however sometimes I just can't and leave it as no one having best answers because I used to or sometimes have so many responses, I don't know who to give it to! If you're in that case what do you do?
How do you give our "BEST ANSWERS"?

Something generally sticks out in my discussions for me to easily give it best response. When I see more than one I will opt to choosing one and put forth positive ratings to the br member as well as the other great ones as well.

I think I read you said that on another discussion before or maybe it was someone else, but I also do that now if I find that there are more than one worthy of being selected as Best Response, I give them all a +.

Exactly I am a very avid positive rater. I find a great many members on myLot to be very helpful and kind to take the time to stop by.
I also bump into some members in others discussions and find responses great and helpful also and will rate positive also. (+) to you my friend.

Why thank you for the generosity. I'm afraid I'm a bit lazier giving +'s to those who deserve em but I'm not lazy giving them to helpful members like you who make myLot a happier place (site). +++

I haven't been as active as I would like to have been, so I am now trying to be a bit more active and I have noticed "Best Answers or Response", but I don't honestly know how it works or how you can actually award to someone. I would also like to know how it works, does the person getting a best response for a discussion get an incentive or extra earnings? And where do you have to go to issue best response?

Best responses add a positive rating to the member you're giving it to. You can see the words "Mark Best Response" on the same line on the members name, when you open discussions that you have started.

Thank you I really wasn't aware of how it actually worked. After reading this discussion I checked my profile and i noticed I had been awarded "best responses" on numerous of my discussions. I really didn't even know that I had been awarded that, I am trying to get the hang of this site I am kind of fairly new, so every bit of information helps.
Thanks I appreciate it.

I usually give it to someone whose response, though I did not think about until I read it, makes a lot of sense. The one that gives me the thought "why didn't I think of that" or "why didn't I look at it that way"?

I use this way of thinking also when I am going through mine. I also use your 5 day rule too.

It is hard to give best response, as usually there is more than one good answer. I have some yet that I need to give the best response for, but I am not in any hurry, as we are give everyone time to respond, that wants to. We are to wait at least a week, and I will wait months. I like to make sure that my discussions have all the responses they are going to get before I give the best response. It is just a good feeling thing anyway, as it sin't mandatory to give it, as it is just up to each individual. good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Lately i choose for "best response" the one who wrote more with less words.
It's not something like strategy, i know that sometimes i doesn't work good for the others, because everyone is giving his own opinion and if we have to calculate, giving best response would be done with everyone who participate in our discussions.
I take that challenge like a game, i read everything after some time and the one answer who seems like clear without so much words, i choose for best response.
I have always respected people, who can say more things with few words. Senseless taking i not something i like so much, even if i talk too much sometimes.

That's right! And here I'm reminded that I need to give a BR to one discussion I started a week or so back. Just wanted to make sure to give it when the last response has been over 5 days to not miss any late comers who may give br candidates after I have already selected one. I think it's safe now since it's over a week so I better give that BR now. Paying it forward.

Hmmm, I think a lot of members also choose the best response that way. I found that I've gotten a few best responses with comments like that.

I have started very less number of discussion here. But whatever topics I have replied back, for some of them I have been selected as best response. After I got the mail from mylot saying that I have got the best response mark, I used to go to the discussion and analyse it. I have seen that my responses were having more info that other. So, that how you can select. The reply which is having more info, grammatically correct, and to the point , that post you can select as best response.
