Hello guys, my second favorite pizza is the close pizza, when it has filling in the crust for the pizza. I eat it in my favorite restaurant, it's called Godzilla, but lately in my country they started to serve it nearly in every pizza restaurant. I've never done pizza by myself, but it is so delicious when everything is in the crust and nothing is directly baked, non of the products inside. It's made with yellow cheese, which become melted inside, pickle and ham or some kind of salami. They can make it with fish and corn too. Have you every tried and what is your own opinion about the taste? Ooops, i forgot the tomatoes sauce inside, it's great too.

Actually someone else have brought that up in a discussion thread I started a few weeks ago, it does sound delicious. Is the crust similar to that of a conventional pizza? If so, I think I can make that myself. They have here called "Pizza Pops" which is a closed pizza, or what we call a Pizza Pocket. However, the dough is quite different than that of a conventional pizza. I suppose it doesnn't have yeast in it.

The generic name would be Pizza Pockets here in Canada, but there's a popular closed pizza put out by Pilsbury called "Pizza Pops"

Every time i have tasted that kind of pizza, it was in some restaurant or so, i have to check the recipe if i can find it in internet, but the taste of the crust seems the same as it is with every other kinds of pizza. I didn't know that kind of pizza is called Pops.

Here in the U.S. we call this kind of pizza calzones, stromboli, pizza pockets and there are other proprietary concoctions from different business concerns. They all are pizza contents surrounded by a pizza dough. Very handy, literally. You can hold the whole creation in your hand while you eat. The stuffing sort of just oozes down your chin and you'd best be wearing a bib or some kind of an apron for the 'drippings'. Yummy stuff. Also they are so versatile as to what you can put into the fillings.

I just checked last night the recipe and here people call it calzone too, but i love the easy ways we call the things, that's how i called the pizza closed

No we do not have it in my place yet, is it similar to a pizza sandwich? You know closed because all the filling is inside the dough and the whole thing is baked?

Yes, you bake it when everything is in the dough, i don't know if they prepare something before baking, i mean the filling.
