Personally my perception of an ideal or perfect teacher is the one who can transfer his knowledge to his students thru providing different methods improvised solely by him. Because I believe there's no single technique in teaching that will work for everyone and every student must be treated individually. A teacher must adapt to the level of his students rather than pushing them to comprehend beyond their capacity. Such as for example, a teacher must repeatedly discuss the topic until the student understand it fully and also find ways to make the discussion lively rather than boring. How about in your opinion? Can you speak about your image of a perfect teacher?

A perfect teacher should be knowledgeable, flexible, empathetic, considerate, authentic, open-minded, charismatic, respectful of his students, friendly, self-possessed, a great communicator, an expert on human nature etc. Of course, there isn't such a thing as a perfect teacher. But a good educator should have at least some of these traits.

You make remember those days in college mayrah, haha I remember my first year where i was supposed to learn English for the first time, i was so excited. But the teacher they bring to us that year was just a big jerk, believe it or not mayrah, i still hate the guy. He was so arrogant, & whenever we ask him to please explain to us sometimes with Arabic, he keeps saying i won't do that it's easy bla bla. I didn't like that class even for a second, besides he was so bad with us when someone tell him, he didn't get that or this, & call him names just coz he didn't understand something, all my friends hate him. He doesn't know how to transfer the knowledge, but thank god, the last year at college, we were in the hand of what i call " the master of teaching ", he was so kind with us, & he really knows how to make us understand well english language. While with this good teacher, i regretted everyday i & my friends spent with that jerk teacher who treated us like we are all geniuses & have the same understanding ability. The perfect teacher for me mayrah, is the teacher who doesn't offend & yell at you when you answer wrong, & if you do, he tried again to make you understand, that's the good teacher.

It is only a matter of time before the Perfect Teacher begins to teach. This teacher will not be teaching in a classroom, but in a school yard context. Kids will never have to go to school, college, or university. A robot of planned design, will be programed to grow and mature along with the students. This teaching robot will resemble a preschool child at first, and will,(like an intelligent playmate) begin coaching as the children play. The robot will continue to grow at the same rate as the students and to resemble them, as the children learn and mature. A series of play-shops with learning games and teaching contests will take the students through elementary school, high school, and be there with them as they attain their University Degrees. School days and homework will be as old-fashioned as Grandma's scrub pail!

I don't know that a perfect teacher can exist. this would be someone that you cculd learn something with from and give them back something as well. this kind of person is almost a fantasy. it would be incredible to make this person real!

A perfect teacher is one who is expert in presenting his knowledge to the students successfully. I have seen many teachers who have a very good knowledge but is not able to present it well to the students... so the students hate such teachers.

I find that a good teacher is a teacher who can inspire a desire in his/her students to make discoveries in that particular subject for themselves rather than just create a point that requires the student to form a belief system. To learn from experience can be much more interesting and profound. Teachers who question their students and make them find the answers for themselves before revealing the right answer, if you get my meaning._Derek

Mayrah- Well, I am not a perfect teacher but I would like to think I am a good teacher. I believe that student relationships are the most important part of teaching. If we have no relationship with our students it is difficult to teach them. I believe in the least restrictive learning environment and feel this should extend beyond just special education, here in the US. I do believe in pushing a student beyond their "capacity" because if we simply taught to where the student thought he or she should be we might be holding them back intellectually. I'm sure you remember what it was like to be a student and the days when you didn't quite feel like doing the work? I believe in Socratic methodology so I tend to ask questions rather than just lecture from my podium. I also believe in moving through my room when I teach, as well as doing pull outs or "round the board". I feel that getting the students up and moving is also a part of good practice. I believe in teaching to the multiple levels of intelligence. No two students learn the same or on the same path internally and by conducting a few simple tests I can find out about my students interests. I can also find out in another simple test if they are visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner and this greatly influences my style of teaching, even though I am a visual learner myself. In the end my style of teaching is student centered. Namaste-Anora

My image of a perfect teacher is one that actually knows and loves their subject material. In my formative years, many of my teachers weren't passionate about literature or mathematics and all they wanted to do was teach to earn a living. They weren't into it. They made it to where the students could easily tell they were reading right off of a lesson plan and not from their experiences in the subject. I think a perfect teacher is the exact opposite. One who is very good at what they teach and can use their knowledge to improvise and make the students feel like they aren't getting someone who can assign homework and give you an out of the textbook answer to your questions.

A professor manages to get change for the better only if the behavior is not a dictator. I know we got democracy in your head but I believe that the student expresses a very different respect to the appearance of a teacher with a smile, from the appearance of one who enters a class on top, waiting with his hands in his pockets as students to stand. Perfect teacher is one who will reply to you with great love to the questions posed by common sense. You do not always have an answer. Eventually, and teachers are men. But you're more than nice to hear a response like: "I do not know. A document to me and I'll tell you "rather than a sour smile, and pretended that teaches you is to remember and difficult to stop asking questions next time. The teacher always learns perfectly.Even from his students. The teacher loves her job perfectly.Forget about all the personal problems when entering the classroom door.Do not let it affect his work frustrations. On the contrary, knows that if you can not pay nerves and students will get just rewards. Moreover, there will never be forgotten by those who have instilled self-confidence.

A perfect teacher ... huh ? Well , I don't believe in perfection but a perfect teacher should be nice , not one of those pissed off ones that come to class and yell until their lungs can't take it anymore , he/she should also pay attention to each student no matter how bad he is at certain subjects (my math teacher tends to only interact with 3 or 4 students in our class of 30 ) , he/she should ofcourse be a good teacher that everyone understands , a bit of experience wouldn't hurt either and ... well , that's about it. :D
