Hi Chaitra! How are you doing? Whenever I am travelling long distance specially in a train, I also feel more hungry because in train one has nothing much to pass time accept eating.. When I visit any relative's place I feel like eating more because one gets bored eating the same food everyday and when you a visit a new place, you get an opportunity to eat different food. I feel more relaxed when am visitng a close relative and can demand for any special dish, this may be reason, I feel more hungry.

Hi dear, I think it is common dear because in your home you are preparing the food. If we visit somewhere we are getting a different taste naturally we want to eat more. The food in village is always special for me especially the dish made by Jack fruit. Don’t remember me all those dishes dear (lol). Please enjoy the different tasty foods and forget about the weight gain now three days are left.

Dear friend, When I feel hungry in travel or not I would like to take reasonable food to stop my hunger. Moreover if I am driving I just eat light food, just for the sake of keep my hunger bit low. Regarding weight I do not care, when I reach home I just have few badminton games, just go for jogging in morning, or have brisk walk there goes my weight down. Eat well play well. But while eating I would bit careful to choose good food.

Hi sis... No, me. never. Perhaps it's not your hunger, rather it's your greediness. lol. When i travel due to drama, seminar or workshop... i just keep some foods so that i can take it when i need. Just follow it and hope it will better work for your hunger. Have a nice day.

hi chaitra! i guess i'm different. when i am in other place, most especially in a place with different type of foods than what i usually eating, i will be less hungry, lol. i'm a type of person who is loyal in almost everything, i stick with the ones i used to eat or those ones that are normal to my taste buds. i would still prefer and eat the most if i am in my own place. well, since you tend to consume more when traveling or visiting other places, then you're right you should just watch and control your consumption and keep in shape. :) have a nice day and happy mylotting!

I don't think so. I eat a lot when I travel because I am excited to try new dishes in a different place and I eat from different resturants. I eat a lot when I am irritated or when I am worried about soemthing. I also eat a lot when I am alone at home. It is a way to kill boring time. I like to eat good food and I love having snacks even though I am concerned about my weight.

I've heard from some others who have travelled (one of my friends and my sister both travelled abroad, and by that I mean with school, for a good period of time - 6 months to a year), and my sister came back ten pounds thinner, and my friend tells me that he lost some weight too (he's in Ecuador right now). I think it's a personal thing, it depends on how you respodn to your surroundings. I know my sister was really homesick and missed her family and her boyfriend, and that's probably why she didn't eat as much as she might here in the US. Plus, she was in a suburb of Sweden that didn't have as much fast food on every corner like we do here at home.

Hi maezee.. missing family and friends can cause us not to enjoy the trip and food as well.. so if we go with family I am sure that one can enjoy a lot.. yes in village we wont get fast food like cities but the dishes prepared in village are really tassty and healthy.. I am just enjoying it.. only two days left..

It might be our greediness as a friend has said in an earlier reply.I feel we become more hungry as we taste new types of food and visiting and exploring new places makes us tired and hungry.Due to this we might consume more food. The food unlike what we prepare at home will be more rich hence we tend to put on more weight.

Hi picjim.. I dont think its greediness.. though I feel hungry I cant eat more than as I do regularly.. may be its because like its not cooked by me and different taste as sree said..

I've experienced it too and i think the reason is that when i travel, i burn more calories than just hanging out at home therefore, making me hungry again which will result to eating more than usual. When i travel, i usually walk a lot. I like walking instead of riding a vehicle, that is if it's only near or if i wish to have a nice walk. It soothes me whenever i do that.

I just recently moved into town, and my hunger has become out of control. The move was very stressful and unexpected so maybe now that Im finally settled in my body wants to re-up for everything i put it though lol. Either way my habits are rapidly growing more unhealthy by the day! Please pray for my self-control!!!

I don't feel hungrier than normally when I travel long distance and,if I travel to a place for a first time, the excitement of seeing something new, which is like a 'spiritual' hunger, keeps place of the actual hunger,at least for a while, but I suppose that a sudden change of climate and especially leaving a busy city to go somewhere in nature where the air is much fresher can make you hungry.

Hi polaris.. that might be when you visit to a very new place but I think you will definitly feel hungry when you visit a countryside where you already visited few times and spent some time..
