After the victory over Chelsea, Wenger decided to change 8 players for their match up against Wigan. The changes did have an impact, but a negative one. Arsenal drew the match and miss the opportunity to go level on points with the Manchester clubs. Out went Van Persie, Walcott, Nasri, Fabregas, Song, Wilshere, Djourou, Clichy. And in their replacements were, Chamakh, Bendtner, Arshavin, Diaby, Denilson, Rosicky, Scquallci and Eboube. It is evidence that beyond the first team, the players dont quite make the cut. I could fathom why Wenger held players like Diaby and Denilson in such high regards. Everytime I see them plays, I cant help but cringe. The former is definitely not good enough to play for a top EPL team. While Arshavin is a good player, he is very lazy and most of the time, he is frustrating. Yes he is capable for scoring goals like the one against Wigan but it is far and by large. Rosicky is still a useful player to have. So too is Bendtner even thou people dont like him. As for Chamakh, I find him pretty weak on the ball but this being his first season, it is understandable. Eboube is good and I like him but why is a right back playing in the left back position? My wish is that when the January window open, Wenger will buy some quality players and sell the likes of Diaby, Denilson. He should also cash in on Clichy cos the French left-back is having a stinker of a season.

I think Wenger made the mistake of looking far ahead. He did the changes given the fact that Christmas and New Year is the most hectic time of the season. But having said that the result is not acceptable!! To be 2-1 up against 10 men and then conceding a sloppy own goal for the equalizer is bad!! Cheers! Ram

You got it right. 2-1 up against a team who just had a player sent off, this is just not acceptable.
