Struggle, Bitterness, and Setbacks

Well, as many of you know, last year was a difficult year for our family. And, setbacks and job loss, and stress has happened to many Americans in the last couple of years. It has been even more difficult dealing with all that has occurred because we are not near any real friends or family. The closest friends we have live several hours away. My husband is always stressed from his job (which he is lucky to have, after being jobless last year), and so many setbacks (and family emergencies) have been going on, that we are just trying to get above them and cope. Did others throughout the world also feel that this year, and the previous have been difficult? One hopes that 2011 will offer a better outlook, but it is hard to get beyond the bitterness of the events of the past two years. I try and keep a positive outlook, but with difficult times so near in the past, it is hard to think about the coming year being any better.

I totaly understand. We don't live close to family members at all. If we need something we have to do it ourselves that means that babysitting or emergencies with our kids is on us. My husband has a great job. I just graduated college but haven't been able to find work. This year our son got diagnosed with a learning disability which just tore me apart. It meant having to relocate schools, adjust to new friends, and having to explain why. I hope this coming year the Lord is with us again in helping us deal with all these issues.

I hope so too. For you and us, and others. Thank you for responding.
