It seems easy enought to find the recipe but I cant seem to find one. I just want to bottle basic pancake syrup. Does anyone here make their own syrup? Does anyone bottle their syrup? I need some instructions. Water bath canning instructions would be awesome.

You need to find a recipe for pancake syrup that you like. Just do a search for 'Homemade Pancake Syrup'. There are gazillions online. Put your syrup together. Then: (drumroll, please)-------- Sterilize your jars Pour the syrup to within 1/4" of lid Adjust lids and process in boiling water canner for 10 minutes. I am assuming here that you already know about water bath, sterilizing jars and lids and all of that good stuff, right? Hope this helps.

Ive done a million searches. Okay, a million searches may be a bit of an streach. I have not been able to find a recipe that included the recipe and the instructions. The basic recipe containes a lot of sugar and should be easy to can though.

If you're going to keep a jar or more out for immediate future use be sure and let the jars cool to room temperature before refridgerating to help keep sugar crystals from forming.

What a wonderful idea, I hope someone can help you because I'd like to know this as well. I do make my own syrup, but only a certain amount that we can eat before it goes bad...

I have the stuff to make it on hand but I would rather make a large batch and just have it ready. Id love to know that I have a bunch on hand just to simplify my life.

Oh tell me about it. I am taking college classes and during my quarter breaks, it would be really nice to make a lot ahead of time so I can focus on my schoolwork..

You can make all kinds of pancake syrup. I call myself an urban peasant and live near large tracts of parkland where I forage for berries such as elderberries, blackberries and saskatoonberries (I don't know what you call those in the USA) Anyway, I make syrup- but in order for it to keep, all syrup uses large quantities of sugar.Sugar is a preservation agent. Also, the syrup should be used up before the new crop of berries comes in. As far as sterilizing the jars, I use boing water for both the jars and the lids. My friend and fellow forarger Betty sterilizes the jars in the oven and the lids in boling water and lifts them out with sterilized tongs. As someone has mentioned there are a gazllion recipes on the internet for all kinds of syrup. Usually the recipe also gives instruction on sterilizing the jars.

I´ve never made a pancake syrup, and I don´t know the ingredients. However, I´m guessing it would have a large percentage of sugar which would make preserving it straightforward. If I were to bottle it, I would treat it as jam and bottle it accordingly.

Large percentage of sugar is an understatement. But some if its flavorings I have not used a lot and I wasnt sure how to can them. I think a basic waterbath canning would be just fine but Im no pro so I was looking for a tried and true recipe that I could follow.
