Recently here where I am living is snowing almost everyday...It's so unconvenient for us to go to work..You know ,the bus is so slow,,and during the rush hours,it's almost impossible for us to catch a taxi...(by the way,you can't go to work by taxi everyday,,so expensive)... For me ,I started go to work on foot...Though it takes nearly 40minutes every morning, but it feels great...Now I even think aboout keeping this way.. So how do you go to work or school usually??Let's share..^^

I don't have a car, so to get to school and work, I travel by bus. This is not the greatest system in the world. On a good day, the buses run somewhat decent (I have been riding them for so long that my standards have lowered, this system is actually terrible), but the constant snow is making things worse. They are slow, which is understandable right after a snowstorm, but when everything has been dug out, they are still running very late. What's worse is that it would take in between 1 to 2 hours depending on the time of day to get to work, but 15 minutes by car. This is valuable time being wasted. I cannot afford a car, and what bothers me are those that know I don't have a car tell me how I am doing the planet a favor by not driving. It isn't doing me any favors for I nearly lost my job and failed school thanks to punctuality problems relying on this inefficient system. The first chance I get, I am buying a car.

Hi dear, In the morning I need to get a rickshaw or a bus (whichever is coming first) to the nearby railway station. From there a journey with a heavily crowded train for about 1:20 mts. again a taxi or walk. If I am late, I can get the share taxi. But mostly this 15 mts. walk is good in the morning. The same way in the evening also. So, a total of 2+2=4 hrs. of journey and finally by 8-8:30 I will reach at home. This is the regular practice for the last 15-20 years. I think this journey time will get reduced to 1 hr. as the office premises are shifting to a still nearby place from where I am staying. Happy New Year. Thank-s

I'll switch work with school so I can also reply to this discussion . :) Well , in the past years when I was in the school my parents used to drive me to school but now that I'm in highschool , one of my neighbors is now my classmate so we can walk together ... and besides , I was putting on some weight ( just kidding ). The road to the highschool I'm going to is pretty short since my home town is small , it takes about 10 minutes to get there so it isn't such a struggle. :)
