So I had all the fun in the world last night celebrating the coming of the New Year only to be sick today. I have a really bad menstrual cramp right now which really woke me up almost making me cry. To add more salt to the wound, I also have sore throat and sinus. What a nice way for me to celebrate the New Year. I'm thinking of going to the clinic later if this really gets bad.. Does this ever happened to you guys? Oh I hope not...

Yes, it has happened to me. A year ago at this time or earlier I had a cold I just couldn't shake. I thought it to be more than just the "cold and flu season." Fortunately, this happens to me very rarely...I think I have been blessed with a great immune system :) I hope you get over your illness quickly and are able to enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend. A sore throat, plus sinus problems...is not a good combination to be sick...causes problems with your breathing. Get well.

i'm so sorry to hear that you are sick on new year's day... but you still have to look at it on a positive side because there are still many people out there who have to spend their new year in the hospital with more severe illnesses... if you think about it in this way, then you will still be able to say thanks to God for His blessings and spend your new year in a positive way... take care and have a nice day...

All the best for 2011! Sorry to hear that the year has not started too well. Celebrations are not always the best. We eat too much, we drink too much, a lot pf germs are spread by unhygienic people, etc. Take care of your health and your body and your body will be strong and take care of you. Anyway, I hope everything passes quickly and a big smile will appear on your face again. All the best!

Hi dear, You are the first one to talk in the New Year. Feel bad that you become ill. Never mind, it is for a few hrs. matter and I am sure you will be alright by tomorrow. The New Year late night bash, dance and drink, untimely sleep and board disorder might be the reason and take it silly. Also the nights are so cold and dry would be the reason for your throat sore. However, nothing to be worry, you will be find and fit in max. one or two days. Anyway, as you were aware that you are in the menstrual cycle, you could have cautious about yourself. Still, it is fine because the new year party cannot be postpone or pre-pone for another day. Wish you good health and have a great day. Thank-s

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well but I guess although our brains know that it is the New Year, and the first day at that, but our body doesn't always cooperate. Last year I had to look forward to a surgery due to cancer in my soft tissue - my body didn't give me a break over the festive period either - lol. Take care and hope you will get better soon. Best wishes for the days ahead.

Aww, bummer! I hope your day gets better. Perhaps the sore throat and sinusitis is due the partying last night. I know. I'm having stiff neck, I think from looking up at the fireworks . It was extremely cold last night, but we had a bonfire so my feet and hands were warm. But my hood kept slipping so I think my neck got cold and since I was pretty much excited watching the works, I didn't notice the cold. I hope your condition gets better (me, too). Happy new year!

Well, given that I'm a man, I can't have menstrual cramps. However, I've suffered through a kidney infection, so I know what it's like to be in severe pain. As for being sick during the holidays, here's a personal anecdote from a few Christmases ago: I came down with the flu really bad. I had a coat, a long sleeve shirt and long pants on and I was still freezing. The worst part was that my love interest at the time was there as well. So, not only was I miserable, I was miserable in front of the lady I liked. I hope you get better soon!
