Godaddy domains

Hi everyone,
Happy new year,
Have any one purchase a domain from godaddy after purchasing the domain will the billing department asks for credit card,driving license or passport etc to verify the domain.
I have same experince with netfirms i purchased the domain but after that billing billing department asked me a xerox of credit card.But netfirms gave me the money back via paypal.
guys please don't give responses like buy a credit card lol..

Just one question? Your question is kind of confusing to me, without either paypal or a credit card how else would you go about purchasing a domain name? And if you used paypal I dont see any reason why they would need a copy of your credit card since that information would have already been collected and verified by paypal. If you used a credit card what reasons would you have for not sending them a photo copy of the card? I mean granted it is a bit of a pain to have to make a photo copy of your card but they are only doing it to try to protect you from credit card fraud. Ive purchased many domains from godaddy and they have never once asked me for any kind of proof of who i am or who my credit card belongs to. There has to be something else going on for them to have asked you this, granted Ive never done business with netfirms so i cant say that this isnt normal practice for them.

Hi angeloglasser thanks for the quick response even ihave paypal verified account i linked my bank account to paypal. I buy a domain 2 days before at netfirms but the billing department asked me for credit card xerox and i don't have a credit card. Just i was buying a domain at godaddy i thought even if they ask for credit card so i asked this question but you said that you have buy a domain at godaddy and they didn't asked you for credit card so i think i will buy at godaddy.

No problem good luck to you, and like I said ive purchased several domains from godaddy and never once have I been asked for a credit card xerox copy or anything like that. I use my paypal account as I find it to be easier and more secure. So I wish you luck.

I have bought a few domains from them, I think the company is great! But I never had to give them any additional information, I guess they ask a certain percentage of people to do that randomly. So I guess you could say that you were just a bit unlucky. But I guess it is not such a big deal, if you have the details to give them, that is... It is definitely a legit site, so I would not worry about giving my details to them.

I have a domain name from godaddy and I wasn't asked like what they asked from you.I paid them through my Paypal account.
