Why people hate good songs just for the reason that they are old?

I'm just 17, and listen to bands that started even before I was born. I listen to anything good, old or new. Most of my friends never even heard of the bands I listen to, but I don't really care. When people critisize music I listen to I just tell them to go to some other room if they don't want to listen to my music. I don't force any of my friends to listen to stuff I listen to. As for how to listen to old music in the presence of people who don't like them, I think you should just buy a pair of earphones and this way every one will be happy. If those people still critisize your music then just know they are ignorant people who just want to piss you off. No one has the right to tell you what to listen to, old or new, you can listen to whatever you want.

I listen to ALL styles of music!!!! How will I deal with people who hate "old" music??? If they are in my home, I will play what I want to hear & they can listen, mentally tune it out, or leave...their option!!!! In my car, I play what I feel like listening to at the moment. If you need a ride, you must listen to what I'm listening too. If you really can't stand MY music, ask somebody else for a ride next time!!!! In the same respect, if I come to your house or ride in your car, I will graciously listen to YOUR music!!! NEVER know, I might find something new that I like!!! No matter your age, I suggest that you do NOT prejudge ANY music. Listen with an OPEN MIND!!!! Artists who I don't like occasionally come out with a really GREAT song!!!!
