You will need to make sure that your English is of good enough quality (if you choose English as your chosen language to write in). Articles should normally be between 300 and 500 words (they can be longer but should not be much less) and you should focus on being informative, knowledgeable and readable. Read what has already been published and try to choose topics (or aspects of topics) which have been covered less. Do your research well and NEVER copy what others have said (this is called plagiarism and it is actually a criminal offence to copy other people's writing, whether word for word or as substantially the same information). The skills you will need are: * Good grammar and spelling in the language you choose. * The ability to research and organise good quality, reliable and informative information on your chosen subject. * The ability to arrange your information and to write in a way that attracts the reader. You should also learn how to research keywords related to your topic so that your articles rank high in search engines, know where to publish your articles so that they get as much exposure as possible and work hard to produce excellence in writing. Nobody becomes an 'expert' by just repeating what others have said. You must be original, either by presenting new, valuable information or by saying the same thing better than anyone else.

You should NOT think that writing articles is easy or leads to instant success. It takes a lot of hard work and patience to even begin to build up an income. The advantage of article publishing is that, once an article is written, it can stay online and continue earning for you so that, eventually, if you have several hundred articles, each one will, hopefully, contribute a little bit to your income and add up to a reasonable amount each month or year. It is NO use saying 'article writing can earn lots of money so I should do that'. You need to enjoy it and be good at it. If you don't and are not, you will waste your time.

I wrote on shvoong, its legitimate site and pay per view each article you publish in there. But i think shvoong is slow to get paid, they pay 0,01 every 20 visitors. The advantage is this site provide almost all language to write article or resume. As an Indonesian i wrote some in my language and its seems not to bad as a pasive income.

I do hope to be able to write my own book one day. Have yet to start at all but always aspire to write. Everyone of us should write at least one book in one's lifetime.
