Can we make 2011 a great year?

Most of us desire to know love and it is possible for everyone, but it will require the losing of self, as has so often been said, in service for others. If you would have friends, if you would have love, these things you must also expend. Nothing can come to us unless we first give it away. I've often been in a crowd, perhaps at a party, when someone enters the room and people immediately gather around him/her. Almost always that person is smiling and you can tell that most people there are her/his friends. Meanwhile, in a corner of the room sets a couple with bored looks on their faces,rarely speaking even to each other. They may be known to everyone there, but prefer to keep to themselves and usually leave early calling it a boring party. It seems that if we are always complaining about our spouse, our job or the people we have to work with, we just attract more misery into our lives. If more of us stopped seeing all the negative happenings around us and decided to give what we wanted to receive, I feel that we could make 2011 a great year. What do you think?

I think that we need to become much more aware of what we think and what we say or listen to. The power of our thoughts is only now becoming clear to the majority of us. If you believe and participate in joint prayer or other energy groups
you will become more and more aware of the power of joint thought. However if you are interested in this and want to increase the power of your thoughts you must not allow negative thought, words or deeds to sabotage your efforts.

Happy New Year to you. I hope the year 2011 will be great for you.
Unfortunately we human beings like to blame others and make complains on silly matters. We feel happy to find the negative points on others rather than finding out own mistakes. I read that those who are blaming others are trying to hide their own negatives. If we stopped this habit, finding out the negatives, then definitely we can make the year a great year. Looking only on positives is really a great thing.
Have a healthy and peaceful New Year.

Hi Sreekala, Thank you for responding and wouldn't it be wonderful if we didn't say anything about another that we wouldn't want said about ourselves? I know that won't be easy for any of us but as you say to look on the positive always helps and can make a great new year for all of us. Blessings.

Well, everyone would wish to make a new year great, right? But, for me one can make this year -2011 a great year by doing what they can. And just with hard work, determination and discipline.

We need to look for the positive things in life. So what if someone doesn't agree with you, or it is raining outside. There is always something good to be found. Open your eyes and see the light. Take a second to glance at the sky no matter what it looks like. Give a little thanks to God that you are here for another day.

"As a man thinketh, so is he". Unlike magnets, with attitudes like attracts like. As long as we focus on the negative aspects in our life and the lives of others, we will attract even more negative experiences into our lives. If you want more positive to happen in your life, you have to change your attitude to be positive, you have to find ways to be positive to others in your life. If you are a blessing to others, you will find that more blessings will come back to you.

No matter how bad things are they could always be worse! I once crawled out from under an overturned farm tractor, with the Greatest Feelings of Joy that I have ever experienced, just from being alive and uninjured. A wonderful experience from, what could have been a horrible accident. Looking back over the years I've seen it happen time and again! Good things always come out of negativity! 2011 is destined to be a Wonderful year, just like those that have come before!

Hi barehugs, Thank you for responding to this discussion and I agree that things could always be worse. Just recently I read something that went like this, "it's bad that my husband is in the hospital, but I'm so thankful that we have a hospital". Blessings.

I agree I would like to be more positive I really would, but I would be a lot happier if there were some changes in my life for the better of course, and if things just did not cost so much. Having 3 kids is expensive. But I agree we do need to start thinking more positively. I do agree that positive people give off a positive vibe and people do enjoy being around them and do get in a good mood when doing so.

Hi pose: I agree with you. If we have a good attitude and also if we give positive things that's what we are going to recieve. Sometimes it's difficult to keep in mind a good attitude but that's very important and we sooner or late will find our reward. At least, when we see the positive side of things we are happier than if we do the opposite.

Hi Pose123!.
I think we all hoping for the best this year even we the weather not really friendly at all. I try to be positive as possible and not judge every thing to fast, try to listen first. I hope this act will improve how I see a thing in my life. I think you are right if we are smiling the world will smile back at us. I am a little shy woman but I am lucky I had a friend who except me the way I am.
About complaining person, its sometimes really bored to hear them and they just don't know if they are very lucky because I believe they are so many people who much miserable than they are. I Think start counting our blessing is a good way to have a wonderful year.
