I am going to Malaysia this summer but I don't have an itinerary yet so I am hoping anyone who has been there could give me some tips on where to go and how much things usually cost there. The main stops I would go to is its capital, Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands and we would stay there for 3 days and 2 nights. I would really appreciate any help you would give me. Thank you for your responses.

hey there my dear kabarkadudet friend! haha! i was in KL with ate carla last june. KL is a really nice city. I was surprised to find that it was almost like Singapore. Bustling and very progressive. We had a half day city tour, so I suggest you arrange for that to explore some of the city's tourist spots. The sites were nice. Some old museums, chocolate factories, palaces, parks, and of course the twin towers. We also arranged for a tour to Mecca. So I was happy to finally see the church that's been on our Sibika books in gradeschool. haha! We stayed there for 5 days so we had our own time to explore the city. We went to Titiwangsa park, just because it was very much publicized in the Johnlloyd and bea movie "MIss you like crazy" haha! And some shopping of course. There's a mall in the twin towers. And we went to this mall that's like 10 storeys tall with an amusement park with actual rides inside on the topmost floor. It's not that expensive in KL, compared to Singapore. But it isn't that cheap too. I forgot how a usual meal would cost. But still it's relatively cheap. Find a hotel that's in the main city. Doesn't have to be fancy. Enjoy your stay there my good friend. Still wish you can go to Boracay with us =)

Thank You Kabarkadudet for the tips. How I wish I could go to Boracay with you guys but I was restricted to one travel place a year by my fiancée because we need money for the wedding. lol. Malaysia is going to be a family trip so I chose this to avoid too much costs. Anyway, Thank you for the tips. I would like to tour Mecca as well and see if it really looks like the ones in our Sibika book! lol.

I visited Malaysia when I was 21 years old and I was on my trip around the world. I found Kuala Lumpur quite a lot cheaper than Singapore. I found train and bus fares were really reasonable. Accommodation was reasonably priced. I think $200 would be enough for your budget. I hope that you have a fantastic time in beautiful Malaysia.

Thank you Maximax. I really admire your zeal to travel. Anyway, I am guessing 200$ is not inclusive of airfares so I am going to allot 300$ for the whole trip. Other than the Petronas Towers, are there any landmarks that I should also visit or perhaps a must do while I am there? I guess a lot of things has changed in Malaysia since your trip but whatever you say will still be of big help to me because I am only at the early stages of planning the trip so clearly I have no idea. lol.

I liked walking along the river and seeing the night market where I got some bargain clothing. Yes, I guess lots has changed since I have been there. The $200 I suggested is for accommodation, food, attractions and transportation once you are there. I hope you will have a wonderful time planning your trip.

I have been to Malaysia a few times. Kuala Lumpur is a beautiful city, indeed. I was very impressed with the Petronas Towers, right there in the centre of the City. There are, of course, many scenic and places of interest for visitors to see in the country, Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia ( Sabah and sarawak ). I had a nice time at Penang Island too on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Have a nice trip !
