I think I'm going deaf

January 4, 2011 2:24pm CST
I just thought I heard my partner on the phone "what your fondling him" when really she said "what you thumped him". This seems to be happening a lot these days. You should hear the conversations I've had with my mother in law. She's partly deaf and I'm sure I'm loosing my hearing, so the words that fly back and forth are amazing. It's sometimes like when you hear a song until you read the lyrics and notice the difference.

I have 40% hearing loss at certain frequencies. Furthermore, I apparently hear through bone conduction more than direct sound waves through the ears. Am I deaf? No, not at all - only on the telephone! Perhaps you have a similar problem. As a test, I can hear absolutely nothing through a doctor's stethoscope. What about you?

I've never had my ears tested yet. I've just started to notice it over the space of a couple of months. It seems up to yet mainly in conversations either face to face or over the phone, TV and music too. I've worked in a lot of factories when I was younger and night clubs a few years ago.

I agree with peter sir due to certain frequencies our hearing capacity is loose and now these days mobile phone is also the responsible for this. Now people talk many hours on phone and some time after their hearing problem is start.
