Yes...My best friend is not a male. She is a beautiful young lady. She is the closest person to my life. She is not my date thou!!! weird?? It might seem weird but this girl I have been with for the longest time in my life, she has become more than a sister to me. We actually call ourselves bro-sis in front of the people. Can not wait till the day I see her with her amazing husband that God has chose for her. Does anyone else have the same situation as me?

My best friend is a male and I'm a female. We've been best friends for like 12 years now! Sometimes we have feuds, but we always make up! I also recently went to a wedding where instead of a maid or matron of honor, the bride had her best friend (a male) take on that roll. I think a lot of girls have a guy for their best friend and vice versa.

I don't think the gender is much important. I have very good friend with both gender.

My best friend was a male. We didnt't speak about our personal lives. we just help each other. And pass jokes on others. He was about 10 year younger than me. I consider him as my small brother. He has became our family friend. he considered his father as his own father. He helped a lot and lot to my wedding. After my wedding he became a small brother to my hubby. After my immigration to Germany I have not seen him more than 11 years. But my heart always wish him for a good life. He is from a different race also.

There's nothing wrong with having your best friend as the opposite gender. I actually have two best friends and they are a couple, so I have a best friend of each gender. I'm always the third wheel. Haha. But it's okay, I'm the big wheel on a tricycle.

This is not weired, I have many female friends, some of them are best friends and I talk to them very often, aks their suggestions on day to day things when I feel. It is all about level of understanding and not the gender, a male may have a female best friend and vice versa. I also have a brother - sister relation with my female best friend. Thank you for sharing.

I once did and loved him like if he were my brother. I am female and he is male, and we would talk on phone for hours, pretty much about anything allowing one another advice on all matters. He lives in another state so he would come down to visit his parents and always make a point to have a full day with me. I sensed one day that he was having romantic feelings and I explained on numerous occasions that I did not see him this way. So one day we were out having dinner and he planted a kiss and I pulled back and got angry. I told him why would he ruin the 15 year friendship he and I had as I made it clear that I could not see him this way. I use to be able to speak to him pretty much about anything I could not speak to anyone. Unfortunately our talks became fewer by the year. So now we are almost non-existent as friends. I do miss him but can not allow him to further continue to pursue something that could never be. I explained that if a relationship between he and I would not end well where would that leave our friendship. So unfortunately his feelings were stronger and well, he stop calling and that sort of ended our great friendship. I suppose we will always be amicable but the beautiful friendship is gone.
