Mum's Workmates Always Provide Her With A Laugh

I rang Mum last night and Tuesday was her first day back at work after a long holiday. She told me that she slept alright..just didn't want to get up at 6.30am! Anyway, she told me about her friend Debbie who works on the Buffet section at work. They have known each other for years and are both Geminis, so you can guarantee laughs when they have a chat. Apart from Debbie's son getting attacked for no reason by a gang on New Year's Eve she told Mum that the rest of her large, extended family (plus friends) had a whale of a time in the Layton Institute. This sounds like something from "Cuckoo's Nest" but I can assure you it's a place to drink lol. Debbie's pal, Denise is one of those people that wins EVERYTHING and, sure enough, she won the "Out of the Box" competition which is too long to explain here but involves winning a tremendous amount of cash, in this case, £600 if memory serves. Earlier that evening there was a "kick-off" whereby Denise's husband pulled Debbie's brother's seat away from him, so he fell to the floor. He could accept this as a one-off but, unfortunately, it happened a second time. Debbie could tell that the landing hurt him so, not surprisingly, he "pretended" to stick two fingers into the eyes of Denise's husband. With me so far? Good! When Denise's husband (can't remember his name) offered to buy the party drinks before the pair of them left for home, guess what Debbie's brother did with the £60 of the winnings? HE THREW THEM INTO THE CROWD! Haha! According to Debbie there were "five pound notes flying everywhere" so I guess Denise won't be speaking to Debbie for another year, even though they are supposed to be bessie mates. Do you think Debbie's brother over-reacted by throwing the money up in the air like that or do you (like me) think it's justified and provided everyone with free entertainment..and money!? I suppose it beats punching someone on the nose! http://layton-institute.co.uk/default.aspx

I'm not sure how much 600 pounds is, but I think it's a lot more than $600. So I'd be really upset if someone threw my money in to a crowd. Now the stuff that was pulled on me would have p*ssed me off too. I'd probably have had more than one thing to say, but to throw someone else's (it was Denise's money not her husband's) money is not cool. So, Janey, I'm not with you on this one...
