south africa have given a target of 340 to india to win this last test and win their first ever series in african land.should india go for win or should settle with draw?
india perhaps first time have come that close to win a series in african country and they would not want to let this opportunity go.i think sehwag would be very crucial.he has not done any significant contribution in this series.i think if he bats for 1st session tomorrow then india can think about victory and today we saw
african lower order playing well so that should give some confidence to indian batsman.i want to see the approach of no.1 test team.

Draw, draw draw...
It will be foolish to be aggressive in this pitch. Leaving a lots of bowls is the only way to survive in this pitch.
Steyn & morkell will be supercharged. Any gifted wicket id sure to fire them up even more.
Even Dhoni's men will be thinking of draw as a good result from this position.

i can understand your point of view but its the same wicket where south africa today scored 340 runs and the batsman like steyn morkel scored runs.i think if india can bat sensibly in first session tomorrow then they can think about win.otherwise india would go for the draw undoubtedly.regards.keep mylotting.

Yes surely there is still a chance that they might win it but its a very narrow one,so if they even draw the match i will be happy.Starting tomorrow the last day they should really get their partnerships going and want shewag to perform well.
The only person i might think as challenge to India tomorrow will Dale Stayne fantastic bowler and he will also make use of those rough patches which will make things tougher for India winning this match will be a hard task but not impossible ..

surely dale steyn is a great bowler and he is in great form and tomorrow even he would be under some sort of pressure as lots of things are expected from him.so it is going to be a great battle tomorrow.watch out for that.

I think India should definitely go for a victory. What I would do is send Pujara at one down and go for it. If he falls and we loose a couple of quick wickets then we have Dravid coming in later to save the match. The other option is remember Eden Gardens and send Laxman at one down!!
Cheers!

As you rightly pointed out India going for a win will solely depend on one man that is Sehwag. If he remains there up to lunch and score near about a century, India can dream of a win. If he gets out early India will be morally down and can not think of pursuing victory and try to settle for a draw but going for a draw on this pitch is not going to be easy you can score on this pitch only if you are free and stroke freely the way Kallis did. Dravid is another key batsman here either India goes for a win or draw. He has to hold one end tight while all other batsman score around him. India and Fabulous three Sachin, Dravid and VVS has to prove to the world that they are really No.1 team in the world and atleast salvage a draw.

I think tommorow sehwag should play like he does every time and all the players should play around him and if sehwag gets out earlier then india should go for a draw as they need 340 in 90 overs at around 3.8 runs per over and that is not a easy task. So they have to play carefully with a well discussed plan. Happy mylotting. Regards, harry.

India would be playing to save the match..Its almost impossible for india to win this test match..even south africa has bright chances of winning this test match with there superb bowling attack.Sehwag can do miracles no doubts about that still making 340 runs on a fifth day track and that too against steyn and morkel its like mission impossible-4.. India would be needing a miracle to happen and only then india can win otherwise there are chances that india can lose this match..

I would expect nothing less than the Indian team going for a win. Not only will they have won the series, but more importantly, they will have done it on South African soil, something (to my knowledge) that they have not achieved as yet.
Sehwag will be the key tomorrow morning, but it must be said that Tendulkar will be the trump, being India's highest scorer in this series. But then who would open with Sehwag? If Dravid opens then everybody must move one spot up, and if Pujara opnes then one risks having a frail opening pair, putting pressure on the lower order. Zaheer looked extremely vulnerable in the last session of play, so I doubt India can expect much from him in the lower order, putting more pressure on Harbhajan.
This match has done nothing but good for the life of Test cricket, and it shows why these teams are the top two in the world.

Hi shailesh,
All depend now on the batsman. The bowlers, though took a little extra time to wrap SA up finally they succeeded.
Gambhir, Shewag, Tendulkar, Dhoni and the second inning's specialist Laxman come up to the expection India would win.
And yes, if India shows aggression and keeps on losing wicket that would give SA a chance to win.

340 runs in one day in such pitch will be very difficult for us specially against SA. Its seems almost impossible to me. Hope they will prove me wrong. My main hope is Sehwag.. If he will able to stay half day then no body can stop us for winning tomorrow.

South africa know ask india to bat with the tarjet of 340 runs.It is not a big score to chase in one day and we have many experienced batsmans so there is achance to win the match. But at the same time south african bowlers take wickets quicly.so the Indian batsman have to play the match carefully to win the match.
