What's your DSLR?

What's your latest DSLR model? I was surprised last Christmas when my boyfriend came home with a Canon 550d. I'm a Nikon fan and used to Nikon as well but I think that Canon 550d is kinda better when it comes to features. How about ya, what's on your mind?

I bought myself a Canon 7D for Christmas. I thought about getting the 60D as it's a bit cheaper, but it's not really so much cheaper that it's a point to save the money. I'd only be annoyed that I hadn't got the more expensive one!
The new feature that I've used most is the higher ISO settings. Decent pictures at ISO 3200, and quite grainy ones at 12680. Which is great for taking pictures inside when you don't want to use a flash.

yeah, higher ISO settings are way much better if you use your tripod

I've got 2 tripods and 1 monopod but I hardly every use them. I've been thinking about selling one or two. But if things move in the dark, a tripod won't help, only higher ISO.
One day I plan to go out and take the same picture with different ISO settings so I can compare the noise myself.

That depends on what you want. Do you want a sharp photo as in not noise, or do you want to be sharp so you can see what you're taking a picture off .-) I take pictures of show jumping, and when it's inside, it's definitly helpful to be able to use a higher ISO. If you have a high quality DSLR, the noise starts at much higher ISO levels than for the cheaper ones. And if you have to use the higher ones, you can turn them into black and white and tweak them so they look like old-fashioned, grainy film black and white photos. Can be quite effective.
My new DSLR seems to be quite noise-free well above ISO 100 so I use the whole range.

I've just been deciding between a Canon 550D and a Nikon D3100. Definitely gona go for the 550D I rate:) Looks sweet!!
