I have a small share builder account and I am wondering if anyone is doing any investing in this economy. So far, I haven't invested, but I have a bit of money in that account now. I have it through ING and I know little about stocks. But I know enough to know that the market is really volatile right now.

The safest you can do now is put the money on the bank, just an advice.

Thanks! Have you done any investing? What has been your experience with it?

Good luck to you as well! It sounds as though you are making investments in yourself--always a good thing!

Actually worst place to is to put money in the bank, inflation is causing you to lose more money that you can put in there, while the numbers might be higher but the value is dropping like not others.

I use ShareBuilder as well on the side and enjoy it. In this current economy we are investing and investing whatever we can really as things have hit the near bottom and with time they are starting to uplift again. You need to only invest what you can afford to lose. Are you looking at long-term trades or short term? My husband has his own investment company so he is always yapping away about this company and that.

How long have you been watching the market? I am thinking that we are looking for longer-term trades. I need a place to start learning about the process which is the reason for my post.

I would think balance would be important. Coinstar and redbox also seem to be good. I haven't looked at all at emerging markets. Thank you so much for the information!

Well my husband has been trading now for 12 years(started when he was 13). If you are looking long term remember to spread out your investment sin various fields from things like commodities(gold, silver etc) to technology companies etc to always give you a balance. Recently I bought stock in US companies that deal with the emerging markets as those are the future if you ask me such as Yum(KFC is one of theirs, in China they are growing at 36%!) and also in some local firms such as Coinstar(they have the coin counting machines and also redbox dvd rentals). If you need any help just feel free to contact me.

I have some money in Silver and it's increased from $18 to $30 per ounce in just a couple of years... most that growth being in the last 6 months.

I would think that all the commodities will do well in this market! Good for you!
