Gautam Gambhir RULED OUT of the ODI series against SA due to Injury......

Gambhir will not be available for India for the ODI series vs South Africa.
Making comeback in the third test he again got injured in the 3rd test and will not play the ODI series.
He got injured facing a ball from Tsostsobe in the first innings when he was on 91 runs.
He scored 93 runs in the 1st innings.
He was in the dressing room on the 4th day due to injury.
He was doutful to bat in the 2nd innings due to injury.
But Gambhir played well in the 2nd innings showing good courage and dedication.
He scored valuable 62 runs and batted for long 271 minutes facing 184 balls with the suffering hand injury.

ya its a sad news, but keeping in mind the world cup, a rest here will be usefull.
i think the we should give chance to dinesh karthik or partiv patel , murali vijay is also good.
but no matter who is the partner, Sachin should open for india on one side.

Hi ramaswami,
That due to injury Gautam Gambhir wount be playing in the ODI series is not a big issue, at least I feel so.
ODI is entirely a different game format and young and more talented players are there for their turn to come.
Now the team management would have to fix who would be fit to replace Gambhir.

I am actually concerned about the injuries to Gambhir. Every series he seems to get injured. This time though it was an external injury and he got it in the line of duty and was hit twice in both the innings. I hope he recovers quickly as we need him at the world cup!!

Gambir hasd two of his fingers under plaster yesterday.I was surprised to see him open the innings today.He did a a-la-Kallis act for India.
It will be interesting to see who will be flown in to replace him. Will it be murali, uttappa , parthiv or will it be dhawan who failed against New Zealand.
This is big loss for india because shewag has already been declared unfit. I guess we are looking for someone to complement sachin at the other end.
Rohit sharma could be called & may be tried as an opener too. Interesting to see what selectors would do.

hope that this will be agood rest for gambhir before the big tournament world cup.
we need all our main players fit for world cup , so its nice to have gambhir a small break.

Thats a great courage from this great player. It doesn't looked good but still he played a great role to make it happen. Youngsters should learn from him on what it takes to play for the country. He is definitely the next captain in the running.
