The current edition of Chennai Open seems to be the most disappointing one for Indian players. Its unbelievable that all big guns have faltered before the quarter finals. If Leander - Mahesh would've not come together, then it will be a very sad story. What would be the reason for the Indian players to come up with such a disappointing show? Can the legends bring some pride by lifting the doubles title that they won in 2002 when they last paired together?

The basic problem with Indian players are they do not have vast experience like Paes or Bhupathi. Most of the players like Somedev or Bhopanna play both singles and doubles. They have to either concentrate on singles or doubles, many top players in tennis like Federer, Sampras, Beckar, etc played more singles than doubles in their tennis career. So, these players have to take either singles or doubles events whichever they are more comfortable. Most of Indian players have lost the matches because of some top players are playing in Chennai Open. So, losing against higher ranked player is obviously show that our players are not that much skillful. The heartening thing in Chennai open is that Paes and Bhupathi both are playing together once again which is great..

It is time that our players play more 2-tier or 3-tier events to get that winning streak. This will help them to improve their from. Also they need to focus much on selected tournaments to keep themselves free from injury worries.
