Yesterday I heard from the news that a famous politician and former actor was apprehended for beating the red light as he was driving along (I forgot the exact location) during new year's eve. "Bistek" as he is more commonly known wasn't accompanied by bodyguards and was driving alone. He got pulled up by this police officer who didn't recognize who he was and thought that he was a Chinese national. Only when "Bistek" acknowledged his mistake did the officer recognize that it was the QC mayor, or more importantly, his boss. The officer was asked by "Bistek" to report to his office but the officer didn't go, because of fear of getting punished. But then during the flag ceremony last Monday, the officer got promoted and was rewarded with money because of his exemplary work. He was considered a role model by "BIstek" and he wishes for other police officers not only in his area but all over the country to be more like him. Good things come to good cops. There's hope after all.

Yes I heared that news. I'm very impressed both the mayor and the traffic man/officer who did his job with out reservation. Its good if every one especially the law enforcement will do their job with out personal reasons. Who ever don't abide the law will be punished. There is no special treatment. It is common in some areas and departments public or private that if influencial people will not abide the law they will not be punish sometimes it will just be forgotten or covered with other issues but if the ordinary people will do against the law its very easy to punish. I appreciate very much also the mayor because he gave a reward and promotion to that traffic man (I'm not sure if his children are given also a reward : scholarship) instead getting angry or any kind of punishment in doing so. Hopefully mayor and the traffic officer being the model will be followed by everybody.

Yet there are traffic enforcers following double standards. They ignore the luxury SUVs and cars who violate traffic rules or just give them a warning while they are keen on apprehending the taxi or public utility vehicles and let them off mostly through bribes.
