Okay this is going to be quite painful for some to read but I think it needs to be placed somewhere on here as it seems a lot of the discussions seem to be going the way of I am a Republican so I am right and with the constitution. Then the Democrat saying the same thing and how the Republican is wrong. So I am going to show you where both Parties stand as the Republcians are in control of the House and this congress is theirs I will start with them Here is the Republicans actions as of late. Republican - Taxes (Generally in all areas) + Spending (Generally in the Defense spending getting a big bonus and maybe a bailout or two) - Personal Liberty (Marriage Equalty and the Patriot Act)(War on Drugs) Pushing for a war on terror which is impossible. Wanting to push a Christan Doctrine into law which has no support for it in the United States Constitution at least at the Federal Level also seems to support the Increase in the Federal Governments power to regulate your personal liberty. Democrat + Taxes (Generally aimed at the top 10 % ish of the income earners) + Spending (Health Care Reform massive social Programs) - Personal Liberty (Patriot Act, Health Care Reform) Approving a war on terror which is impossible. Wanting to push an Atheist Doctrine which is also not supported in the Constitution. Increasing the power of the Federal Government to control your personal liberty through the massive social programs you have to pay for. Both parties either A come up with taxing schemes that don't work or they spend way more than they earn. These two parties don't care anymore about either the Constitution which is the Contract we forced and built the whole Federal and State Governments on. Oh my part of the two Religious Doctrines being put into the legal system is completely supported the only idea that would be completely true to the United States Constitution would be a legal system that would be close to how and agnostic believes you know there may or may not be a god but I am going to let people decide for themselves which would increase the peoples personal liberty. So what do you think? Did I miss something for the party you dislike? (Sorry don't spend all my time following the two parties that currently run this country) Let me know hope the slight rant wasn't to bad. :)

Wow... that bad, eh? No wonder so few Americans actually show up to vote at election time. How do the smaller more independent parties fare? A common theme seems to be that all governments in all countries (that I know of) want each of us "under the thumb". Thanks for all the information. It sounds a little like some other countries. Hope you guys up there can get things sorted out, or the rest of us will invariably suffer. Happy New Year

The Other parties have never had a chance at running the country so we only know through their websites and words what they would do. So in 2012 hopefully the Republicans do what they normally do and the Democrats aren't given the keys back to the car.
