I found a TON of work at home jobs on the internet. These are REAL companies

that offer medical and dental benefits. As I started to fill out the application, I realized I really dont want to work another job, even if its from my home. You have to let them know what hours you can work and commit to them. I want to come and go as I please. I guess if ever I lose my day job, there is something to fall back on. So tell me, do you really want to work from home? I dont think people realize whats required and if its right for them. For now, its not for me.

Honestly, I work from home. Aside from myLot, I have a article writing job that offers me a really good income. I like it because I don't need to set a fixed schedule just to work and I have time to take care for my little girl.

Now something like this, is fine with me. Even though I love writing, the old writers block hits me often. Its hard to write when you have a stressful day job. Im sure you know exactly what Im talking about. Im glad its working for you. Is this something you will continue once your child grows up?

Honestly, I'm saving to go back to school. I stopped studying when my little girl was born and my parents stopped giving financial support.Working in my own field is my dream, but I can also work part-time as a writer when that happens.

Thats good. Cherish your time with your daughter. It will go a lot faster than you think. Kids make life so interesting and its just not the same once they grow up. Then you have all the time in the world to do absolutely nothing.

Yes I would love to work from home. As a person who devoted a great deal of time to a company where as I was on the road to and from each day for four hours, a work at home would be perfect. I certainly have the discipline to be able to do so, and do not have any children at home. So if you can help a girl out that would be great. So if some would happen to stumble my way and or I come across them they would be of a great help. I would commit to it as a full time job as at the current time I would not have anything else really I could not let go.

Forgot to add that in your discussion you stated you tell them the hours you can work, well if a person is only doing this then it would be like a full time job as you can not come and go as you please in a regular outside job. They tell you what hours you have to work so you have to commit to that so that would be the same for someone who is not working anything else. I suppose you meant that when you said if you did not have the first job, no??

Of course I can help you out! Most of the jobs I found are all customer service type jobs but the list is growing. Thats another issue for me. I talk and type all day at my real job so when I get home, no more energy to talk to any one else. I dont want to take these positions and end up quitting because Im tired. Then mess up my reputation if ever I need them one day. You are correct, these are REAL jobs with real hours you have to commit to. People dont understand that. You cant come to work when you want just because you "work from home". Anyway I know you already know all this. Check the top banner on my profile. I have more companies to add today or tomorrow when I catch up on all my email. Good luck!

Honestly, I know there are too many home based jobs, but like another officebased jobs, they want your commitment. I am still doubtful. Although, I want to work home based now because it is more convenient and comfortable to be on your own. The stress is little. I truly want a real home based job where I can earn more than what I am earning in my day job.

Thats another issue for me too. Most of the home based jobs will cut my salary in half. Since the company is not paying to rent building space, they cut costs across the board. Why should I work for less because Im at home? Im doing the same amount of work? I work more hours at home than I do at work because there are less distractions and I feel comfortable in my home. On weekends its not unusual for me to sit at my computer all day. Companies are realizing that productive employees are the ones that are happy in their surroundings. Thats why they are offering more work at home positions. Of course, the companies are thinking of the big picture always, cutting costs.

I have quit my day job before and decided to work from home since it seems to be going well for me. I was wrong on that decision since I have realized that the earnings will be not good enough to pay the bills plus some jobs only last for a few months. It is not really stable in my experience. Right now I am working at the office and I don't think I will quit again to work from home.

Thanks for sharing with us. I really think you did not have the right position. There are permanent work at home jobs with public companies that have been in business for years. I applaud you for taking the chance to go after something you wanted. I hope to make that leap myself one day.

I think the work at home dream that a lot of people have is to be able to set their own hours and work when they want. I've also found online jobs like you've described; I'd definitely apply for them if I needed a full-time job, but I can't really give them the commitment they're looking for presently. All in all, I would probably prefer to work at home even if it is a "real job," but for now I'm content to keep pursuing the dream on a part-time basis. I have to admit, though, that my natural reaction is to feel a little turned off whenever I see an online job asking for a resume, your SSN, and lots of personal information -- I've grown accustomed to not having to give out so much information online, and I actually feel really uncomfortable giving out my SSN in particular even to a legit-looking site because of my past experiences with online scams.

I totally agree with everything you said and you nailed my point. If I could set my own hours AND my pay, I would quit my day job right now!!! I have never worked on weekends and most of these wah jobs require you to work weekends. Just one clarification, these are real public companies. The same ones that you can apply for a regular job. They even have site positions. I dont mind giving them my social but I do know what you are talking about. There are some third party sites that "search" for the real jobs and you work for them as a contractor. Then we all know about the famous "data entry" jobs that are constantly hiring, scams. No thanks.

Hi sergeant, Home based jobs are tempting: you don't have to go out and battle the traffic, the pollution, the hazards of travel, the clothes, uniform, etc. I have seriously considered online jobs from home but what kept me is my snail paced online connection and the scams that abound all over the place. If I could have one work I am capable of with stable pay online, I would definitely go for it. You're right on the fallback position, if ever we lose our regular job, it would also be a very viable alternative.

Heck, I would give up my day job just to avoid the stressful commutes every single day!!! Not to mention I would wear sweat pants every day if I could. If you got a REAL job working from home, you should seriously consider getting a faster connection. It will pay for itself in many ways. For all those reasons you listed above. Peace of mind is priceless. I dont know how I made all these years without a cable connection. I would rather give up a pair of shoes than go back to snail connection.

Happy new year! Not working? I know you and I both are always working but I understand what you are saying. If I hit the lottery, I would still work. I just cant sit around all day and do nothing. Time would stand still and my mind would turn into jelly. My goal for this year is to stress less! Anyway check the top banner on my profile for those companies. Take care.

I have known person working online with good income, me I don't know yet on how to earn online seriously, so maybe if you are sure you earn online more or even just same the same salary you are now, maybe you can quit your job and just work online.

Working online and working from home are quite different. My topic is working from home with real companies that are hiring. These are real jobs that you have to commit real time, which is something I cannot do right now. Quitting my day job is a goal of mine and one day it will happen.

I agree.work at home jobs are good in the sense we can utilise our own time. looking after family is not a big problem here. especially for housewifes, itz too good.

I guess it depends on the position. Some of them pay you by the hours and they want you constantly taking calls. So if you are taking care of family, you wont be paid for those minutes. Still, you have the opportunity to be at home and earn a living as supposed to travelling to work and losing time with your family. Check the top banner on my profile and good luck with your search.

Its not for everybody. To me working at home is for people who would like to work alone or start their own business. It has its ups and downs. Working outside the home also has its ups and downs and many people find that stressful

Very well said! But lets not forget the work at home moms who want to raise their children and also keep a foot in the working world. Child care is very expensive and some people work outside the home just to make enough to pay for child care. Might as well stay home and get paid.
