I've always thought that meeting other writers is very important. They support you in your writing, most importantly they UNDERSTAND you when you say you're having a writer's block. They help you become a better writer! But the question is, where can you meet other writers? Do you use forums or sites? I met some great writers here on mylot, but mostly, I meet writers on Twitter, or because they post to blogs I read on a regular basis. Where do you meet other writers? Do you like meeting other writers?

i actually belonged to a writers chat many years ago and apart from physically meeting at a writers group (going somehwere to meet in your local area) this is the next best thing.

And what about now? Do you have a place where you meet other writers?

Fanfiction.net and Fictionpress.com are good places to meet other writers. You get to read their works as well, and I just love those places.

Hi calajane, it's really interesting to read writings from writers from different parts of the world. I don't have any writer's block yet. Nevertheless the idea in your discussion has engaged my interest and prone to own one I could say I'm the active user of myLot and I write post here almost everyday. I have been doing this for years. I'm glad I meet many nice and hospitable people who are good in expressing themselves in whatever.... Just now I had read a discussion about articles writing on sites of ehow, hubpages, triond, bukisa, .... I would like to visit each of them if I have considerable time. It would be joyous and funny to meet writers with common interest from other regions. At the moment I'm quite content and happy to have many friends who love writing here frequently. It's a great pleasure as well to have continuous mutual interaction in a particular topic if we still have more to share with We know each other well from the exchange of experience, feeling, view, etc. Happy posting

Have you tried Triond yet? It's a community of writers where you can publish your articles, get comments (and advice if you ask for it), and befriend people who share the same interest (writing). You also get to earn a few cents there from your articles. I joined Triond in November and I've met great people there. Why not give it a try?

I do have an account on Triod, but I haven't published anything there yet. I write for Helium and Suite101 and I just don't know much about Triod, which makes me not as comfortable. What's your nick there? Maybe if I know something, I'll be more likely to get involved with the site...

Hi Calajane, I meet many writers when I was with Associated Content and Helium. Many of them join mylot as well. I think it is good to check out forums every now and then to get some encouragement. I do not know if you have heard of Lulu dot com? If you are writing fiction, you can join the forum there. Many writers are gathering there. Some of them graduate from writing online to selling printed copy of their books.

I've heard about Lulu as a way to self-publish. I didn't know they had a forum there. Maybe it's worth checking out. Thanks for the tip! I'm on Helium as well, but I don't spend much time in the community section there. I guess that makes me a hermit
