The most awaited event from the past 4-5 months has been the IPL player auctions for the years 2011-2013. And I've been following the auction from yesterday and as I write this its still going on. Compelling though it was, it still threw up surprises (some good and some bad). How can people not buy Brian Lara and Sourav Ganguly. Rahul Dravid not being bought by Bangalore franchise. Ravinder Jadeja fetching more money than the world's best all rounder. There were good ones too, like Gambhir getting the top bid and KKR forming a team that can be world beaters. I can't wait for the IPL circus to begin.

Dude IPL is not a test match championship, that we take all the experienced players like Sourav and Lara.... This is 20-20 and we need youngsters... Also, they are very old that no one knows if they will be able to play cricket for 2 years.... Thats the reason why they are left out... And why do all the people just hate Ravindra Jadeja... What do you expect from him... Score a century and take 5 wickets every match.... he is one great talent India has produced... See the stats and stop blabbering about him....

IPL is nothing but a money spinning machinery. In a country like India where lacks of people find it difficult getting once square meal a day and at times even starve,it is preposterous to see money descending like an avalanche, the 10 franchises spent millions of dollars to get the team rights. Such a high priced bonaza harmed Test cricket and One Day Internationals as young players flocked to get a birth on the dollar express ignoring domestic cricket.

This year's IPL is also about to start. But I am not much excited. We have a player like Pawan Negi getting a good amount of 8 crore plus.

Hi kingatul, I was keenly keeping update with IPL until last year. But now my fav. Anil Kumble is not playing and also Dravid seems to be out of form. That leaves only Kallis as the guy to watch. Not that of interest anymore.
