Ice skating is very difficult to play in our country because our country is not to much cold and it is very difficult to get more ice in a particular area. In spite of that we can enjoy the the Ice skating during our whole winter season in particular area like Kashmir, Ladakh etc. I am very fond Ice skating but I don get the chance to do this. I live in calcutta and we not get the proper situation for Ice skating. I think skating is more popular out side our country where the people get the proper circumstances to do it.

I have never actually ice skated, but always looked fun. My sister was an ice skater. She had many competitions we would go watch and see. It was fun. We had an ice skating rink at the mall.

Sorry to hear ice skating is difficult to do out there! I realize there are many areas where ice skating is not so popular . . . although it is possible to create indoor rinks, they are very expensive to keep up. I live in a warm area in the US, and we have indoor rinks that are open all year round. During the winter holiday season, we even have temporary outdoor rinks (artificial of course) as there is no way we would have the conditions to have real frozen ponds to skate on. Oh, I hope you have the opportunity to skate soon - at least to visit the areas where you can skate!
