I remember that when i was lil kid i used to dream that i was flying or falling and sometimes get this feeling in my stomach thats its being left behind just like the feeling you get when your in roller coaster while its going down. this feeling will always wake me up leaving me dazed and confused. have you ever felt this before? what do you think is the meaning behind this?

I also felt that way when I was just about 8 years old. I had this strange dream that I was falling. I fell down and landed on a soft surface. When I woke up, I was lying in prone position on the bed. Somehow I wet my pants. Perhaps I got really scared when I landed in my dream.. LOL :D

I usually have these weird dreams when I'm tired. It's like my soul wanders else where until I think of flying or falling. Sometimes I can control how I fly in my dreams but most of the times, I can't help myself falling down.

hmm... i haven't actually had that one. mine is different. whenever i fly in my dreams, someone is chasing me. i don't recognize that someone, or i don't remember his face after i wake up (and i'm sure the person's a he). at first, i fly pretty well, but then i suddenly feel like my body's getting heavier and it becomes hard for me to keep myself afloat. sometimes me feet even hit the ground and i kick really hard to push myself back up. my dream ends there. i'm glad he doesn't catch me. i win by waking up. hahaXD

Flying dreams never feel the same as falling. Usually in flying dreams I just get a feeling of weightlessness or like I'm swimming in midair. I don't have a lot of dreams where I'm falling where I actually feel like I'm falling. Those there's this itty bitty reoccurring dream where I'm walking down a staircase and I suddenly slip and fall. I get that sinking feeling in my stomach like in a roller coaster or an elevator and then BAM... I'm awake. It's short... not more than a few seconds long and it's the only part of the dream that I can remember when I first wake up from it, so I think it usually happens just as I'm entering REM sleep and starting to dream. It's strange, but I don't think it means anything. I fall down staircases pretty often. :D

I used to have dreams like that without even knowing how it felt to be on a plane. Funny thing is when I did get on my first flight I felt the same way. I always wonder how did I know what it felt like without actually getting on a plane? I hate that feeling of falling in a dream. I have't had one of those dreams in a long time!

I get something quite similar to this. It usually happens just as I am drifting off to sleep, I start having a dream where I am walking and I either trip up and fall down some stairs or in to a man hole. The shock of the feeling of 'falling' jolts me and makes me wake up. I don't know what the meaning behind my particular dream is, but when I used to try and interpret dreams I read that a feeling of falling is associated with feeling a lack of control over a situation in your normal life!
