The colors of birds help them hide from predators. The male is often very attractive and colorful so he can attract female birds. The most colorful birds of all I saw in Australia and they are rainbow lorikeets. I saw another lovely bird and found out it is called the Port Lincoln parakeet. It has a nickname called the 28. I asked why and the person said because the bird has 28 different shades and colors. It could also refer to the noise they make. Cockatoos are a creamy sort of white. Another bird I like is the galah parrot. It is gray and pink. Thinking of the Americas I love Amazon parrots. They are green with colorful wings and tail plus they have head markings.

Like any living creatures birds also have many attractive colors! Basically these colors are useful for two purposes first is to camouflage them in the surroundings they live in from the enemies and second reason is that the rich and more attractive colored male in each species gets a chance for mating with a female of that species as the females like such healthy and attractive colors which is an indication of a healthy individual. Thus to maintain the generation and the species in the nature the females always prefer to mate with the best looking male with healthy and attractive colors! Isn't it an interesting fact? Thanks !
