For example) You go in a Yogurt store you fill up your own yogurt then you pay, do you tip the person? You're doing it all yourself.

This is a very subjective issue. I personally do not like to tip people whether it is self service or not. On the other hand, if I am a waiter, I would think differently. It's about whose perspective are we looking at. Self service helps to save on staff, therefore I would not tip at self service outlets.

Thanks for sharing &I agree! I feel that I should tip those who work and have good service but if I'm doing the service myself why tip?

Hello friend, it's not a rule here to tip people who serve to us in bars, coffee stores and so on. I don't know how it is where you live, but i've watched some movies and i know that in some countries tips must be given. Here we tip as much as we want, as much as we can afford or don't tip at all. Most of the places like stores, groceries doesn't keep them tips for the employees, tips go to the company. Tips work here only in the coffee shops or night bars, because in the night bars many people get drunk and give big tips - because they want or by mistake. For me, giving tips is not something which has to be necessary, it must depend on the person. Because people we are willing to tip work for salary and they got boss who probably pay them good for their job.

hi, of course not, i will not give any tip to them, because those people who have to receive this kind of tip, are those who serve you,or do something with what you do. but in self service???they dont serve me so no tip for them.
