Hi Friends,
We all cricket lovers know that Gangulay is not part of any IPL team as of now (Might be in). There is every reason that the most successful Indian captain will feel insulted as he had prolonged his cricketing career only to play in the IPL. With franchises turning their backs on him, it is certainly one of the most ignominious ends for the Prince of Kolkata.
One of the realistic reason could be his base price of $400,000. By the time the re-auctions of the unsold players were held, it became clear that his old team KKR who had a purse of $425,000 won't bid for him. Ditto for Chennai Super Kings who had almost exhausted their purse with only $385,000 remaining.
Everyone was looking forward to Sahara Pune Warriors - a franchise with whom Ganguly has been linked for quite some time. However with three editions already over, even the new teams know how to get their economics right as most of them found it fit to spend the remaining money on uncapped domestic players who would form the core of the team.
I feel that Gangulay must be feeling insulted because of this. May be his relations in the Dressing room were not good with the young players in KKR and for that he had to pay this price.
Playing as a team member may not be good for him as he had been caption of Indian team and KKR for so long but there is only one caption who can take him in and that would be justified - Sachin.

Actually I am surprised that Ganguly did not read the script. I expected this to happen after the last IPL and hoped Ganguly will not throw in his had into the auction. He not only did that but also raised his base price. I think the writing is on the wall as Ganguly is not the most athletic of players and with age slowing down his reflexes, he was not going to the greatest asset on the field. But he could have been a great asset in the think tank of a team. But for that he should have gone the Anil Kumble way of becoming a mentor for a Franchisee. That would have also eased Ganguly's re-entry into cricket as a manager/coach!!

I think he was let down by Sahara family. He was the brand ambassador for them and had a real good chemistry with Sahara family. So he probably expected them to bring him to Pune and probably even make him a captain there. But that did not happen sadly.

Even I thought that he will not be available for auction because of his chemistry with young players but may be he was ready to workout on every problem taht he had in the past session. I still feel that he is a great player and should have been part of IPL-4.

Yet another sad incident in IPL that Ganguly has not been picked.It surely is a opprobrious end for one of the greatest captain of India, but then you cant expect anything positive when it comes to IPL.This so called circus (As i call it) has brought insult to legends , injuries to main players like Zak and Sehwag,Indian team losing tournaments because players are overworked and exhausted.KKR could not do well in IPL , but they could have been worst if Ganguly was not the part of the team.I think Ganguly should be happy that he is not part of a tournament which is doing a lot to kill Indian cricket.About level of cricket in IPL how is it different from another domestic t20 tournaments like county cricket of England or big bash of Australia, only difference is here lot of money is invovled and yes of course too much glamor.Ganguly should be given some important responsibility by BCCI so that he can contribute for making Indian cricket better like Kumble and Srinath are doing.

yeh this event has become Cirsus. As you said we can take it that way but he must be disappointed for sure. He has played very good for India and did good for KKR. He should have not given his name if he knew that he will not be sold.

Soon this may happen with Dravid also, btw he picked up the bad habit of throwing the bat on balls outside the off stump after playing in IPL .

you can insult a player so much.
his batting has improved with every season of IPl.his fielding has been the highlight in the last edition by taking some of the very best catches of that edition and you can't get a better captain thn him.
there was a report that dada would like to play for mumbai along with sachin but mumbai has already retained 4 big players and entered the auction with lesser money to spend which got considerably lesser after buying rohit sharm.
by the time dada came,mumbai didn't have any money to spend for him.
IPL wont be the same without dada.
i dont care even if he became the new chairman of IPL.
i wanna see him come down the track and loft the balls out of the stadium.

he deserve to be part of IPL team and I also want him to hit a six out of the stadium and that would be a slap on bidders. He has done great for the Team India and KKR, one player cannot win the matches.
Hope to see him playing in IPL 4.

Dada has every right to feel let down.
But he has enough for Indian Cricket to be respected by all cricket lovers. I was schoked, when i heard in news yesterday that all the franchises had decided in advance not to pick up Dada. Such kind of politics is shameful indeed. SRK will find it difficult to draw crowds for home matches & is likely to suffer huge losses due to low attendance.
The mood of people in kolkatta is such that Sharukh cannot even promote his team in home state.

Whatever SRK want to do now but that will not get the mood back. He is already insulted and if KKR want to take him in the team for any other role, that would be a damage control and Gangulay will not feel the same honor to be associated.

For me because it is natural of the human being many are get mad in you you are the rich then your neighbor and your relative not so not good in them.
