Do you think the Cable Co. are getting crazy with their costs.?

I think they are crazy, and so far I can't see them getting any lower anytime soon...
They have you pay for a package deal so your paying for alto of channels you never watch,...
They keep adding other things so they can raise your costs, more money in their pocket... all package deals...
They need to offer customers a Design your own package deal.....

Actually I thought there was a bill introduced in the Senate this year to allow custom channel selection, not sure if it passed or not.

I have seen offered something dealing with it, but they still charge a small fortune to get that kind of service..
You have to get digital cable, rent a special box, and get standard cable package, they charge for that... Then you can pay only for what premium channels you watch...
How is that saving you money...

The problem is no one else offers what they do...
It is starting to change, but not fast enough....
Most small towns only have one phone company choice, and one cable co.
So what are they to do...
Satelite helps but it has allot of downfalls also...
hurry up WiMax.......I think is the solution to the problems, will force lower prices, on TV, Phone, and Internet....

Cable companies can not offer 'design your own' packages because of the way a cable system is built. But I do think they are getting crazy with the costs. They keep adding channels that no one ever watches - low budget re-run channels and things like that. And how many Discovery channels do we need anyway? They all carry the same programming over and over and over again. And our cable bill goes up every time they add more of these useless, overkill channels. I'm a big fan of cable and cable high speed Internet. But I'm going to dump the cable and go for a satellite dish if they keep this up. The cable Internet is also unbelievably high, too. I visited some friends a couple of weeks ago and used their DSL Internet connection and it was very good. The got a package deal with satellite, DSL and phone service for a really low price. So, cable better watch out or I'll dump my cable Internet, too.

I have used DSL here in KY, and it is very poor, slow, and they block stuff.....and cost more than cable Internet , once you get slammed with the high telephone cost.. You end up with a $60 - $90 bill every month.
The only choice I have right now is cable Internet and digital phone service (that cost me nothen)... but as soon as there is another choice locally , cable Internet will go too...

I have heard they offer a service that you only pay for what you use, via digital cable....
But they do still charge a high price, and you must have the standard package, that cost about $40 - $50 a month
