Hi. How many of you has tried the ipad. If yes, how is it? Is it better than a laptop? What do you suggest to someone who is in a dilemna: buying a laptop or an ipad?

An ipad has certain advantages and disadvantages over laptop. An ipad has no DVD drive. So you cannot enjoy any DVDs on it. An ipad in general has less memory than any common laptop. However an ipad is light weight and easy to carry. Its your call buddy. You can look for Dell inspiron Duo. Its a fusion between the 2 with a reasonable price.

They are both almost completely different. The Ipad is completely for casual purposes. You use it to read a newspaper or catch the latest youtube video, its not very practical for serious purposes as it lacks memory. A laptop should be use for more long term periods, like being a home computer or going on a flight. The Ipad is more convenient but I would also have to recommend a laptop.

Hello, I guess it really all depends on what you really need either product for. In my opinion I would still go for a laptop even if you only use it for surfing the web. The reason being is with a laptop you can / have the option to do alot more PLUS the price for a laptop is alot cheaper if you only need a basic model. Ipad's are a bit of a fashion status at the moment and they certainly are not cheap. Just wait a while if you really want an Ipad, you will soon see the price drop, just like any new technology product. Just my humble opinion , have fun always.

I would recommend you to go for laptop. Why because many things that you do in laptop can't be done in ipad. egs- suppose you have a software either windows, linux or some other which is educational or private. you want to test it, these things can be done in laptop. But in ipad its restricted. If you want linux to be installed in windows you can use vmware. but in ipad you can't price prospective also. eg-IF Theres a mobile worth 10,000 with all the features including 3g modem 3.6mbps. or you go for data card. In mobile you can insert any 3g sim But in data card that particular SIM So think about. My recommendation is to go for a handy laptop.

If you already have much laptops, then just buy an Ipad. I don't really like the price of Ipad for what it is. It isn't that good. It's just like a toy you don't need. A laptop is much better price for the quality you get!

With the current state of my country, I'd always choose the one that's least likely to get stolen, so I'd get the laptop. Besides, I'm a student, having a laptop would help me more in my studies than an iPAD would.

For me, if you'll use it for really important matters, like school or business, I'd say get a laptop. I have an ipad basically because it became a fad and I didn't want to get left behind. Yes, that was my only reason. It was the "gadget of the year" at that time. But when I had it, I was like, what am I going to do with this? It has very limited capacities in terms of function. Yes you can download a lot of stuff from the app store and be as high tech as ever like reading ebooks and newspapers through it (actual newspapers from all the world have versions for the Ipad) but I just think it's not worth it. Now I use it solely for Twitter and games. I still use my laptop when I have more important tasks. I only advise you to get the iPad if you have the spare money for it. If you're budget is just for one, go get the smarter choice. Buy a laptop.
