I dont know whether i am right completely, its only upto what i know. We are more prone to cold during winters because during winter as the temperature of our surroundings goes down our body does too. So to maintain the temperature of the body more energy is released and more calories burnt. The cold causing virus is already present in our body but its just inactive, so when our body temperature rises it becomes active and takes over our body. so this my explanation tell me whether i am right But i have one question, we also seem to get cold when there is sudden change in surrounding temperature why is this so?

I do not think virus is the direct cause of our cold. Because virus is always there surround us, we are infected just because our body becomes weaker so that they have got the chance to do harm. When it gets cold especially there is a sudden change of the weather, our body has little time to adjust to the change, so we can find not only cold weather can lead to cold. If our immunity is not so strong, we will catch a cold in the end.

I get cold in the winter because it's way colder in the winter. :P Isn't that a logical and simple explanation? :D

I am not sure why we get cold in the winter to be honest. I am not sure if the way you explained it is the reason either but it sounds like it might very well be so.
