Yesterday on the way to my friends baby shower I gave my daughter dramamine because she always gets car sick. It didnt help because she threw up just as we stopped at my friends grandmothers house which was about an hour from our home. I was hungry at the party and didnt want to go get more food so when my daughter didnt want the rest of her pizza I glady finished it. I dont like wasting food so I usually finish my kids food whatever they have left. Its a really bad habit but I rarely catch anything they have. The first time my daughter ever had tonsilitis I caught it from her but the next 6 times shes had it I havent caught it even when I had eaten after her. I am hopeful that whatever she has right now I do not catch. I forgot that she got car sick. Ick I never eat or drink after her after she has vomited. The thought is so sick. I am so grossed out today remembering that I ate food after her when she had thrown up. Right now she doesnt have any symptoms besides being achy and a 101.4 fever.

The fact that she has a fever suggests it maybe something other than just car sickness. My sister gets car sick easily too, but I don't recall her ever having a fever from being car sick. Also sounds like you've got a pretty strong immune system if you never really catch anything from them even after eating their leftover food! No one in our house seems to be that lucky--once one person has a bug, everyone else gets it too. Thankfully we don't all seem to get it at the same time but it's still no fun.

She gets car sick every time we ride in the car more then like 20 minutes. Sometimes as short as 10 minutes. Its usually when the car stops is when she throws up. We got to the baby shower at noon and she was completely fine the whole time we were there. At walmart at 4pm she started saying her legs hurt. Then the longer we walked the worse she got and she started crying really bad. Then when we got home at 6 or so she started running the low fever. She didnt have a fever when she threw up. But her throwing up and then the germs being on the pizza I am almost doomed to get it but I will just have to wait and see. My sister always had tonsilitis when she was little. She had it chronically for 15 years until they finally took her tonsils out. I only caught it one in all those years of living with her. I think some people are just more susceptable to catching certain things. Like I had ear infections chronically all through childhood and elementary school yet my sister has never had one in her life.

Yeah, sounds like some kind of 24-hr flu bag that may have just coincided with her car sickness, who knows. That's weird that your sister didn't get her tonsils taken out sooner! I know I used to get tonsilitis A LOT when I was a toddler and they took my tonsils out when I was only five. Maybe that's the rarity; I don't really know. I know a few people who had them taken out later on in their teens but not many who had them taken out earlier than that. You're probably right about the susceptibility thing too. I don't recall my sister or brother ever having tonsilitis, just strep throat which didn't seem to affect them half as much as it did me.

My parents wanted to have my sisters tonsils taken out when she was little but the doctors wouldnt do it. So they had to wait until she was 15 and my parents finally ok enough is enough. She has a lot of problems with antibiotics not working because of all the antibiotics she took while growing up due to all the tonsilitis infections. My daughter is fine today. But since she was still running a fever last night I kept her home from school to rest another day. The school wants them to be fever free for 24 hours before sending them back to school. So it wasent tonsilitis. Today I woke up with this drainage down the back of my throat. I'm assuming thats what my daughter had something like that which didnt last long.
