Rush "Signals" Vinyl LP. It's Amazingly Good!

Over Christmas I stayed at my Mum's and took the opportunity to swap over a few of my LPs. Here in Carlisle I have a box that holds about 50 vinyl LPs so I took 10 of them out and swapped them with another 10 at Mum's house. One of which is the rather excellent "Signals" LP by Rush.
When I played it this afternoon I suddenly remembered that I first played it on my very first plug and play record player, way back in 1982 when the album was released!! I was 16.
Only vinyl LPs can evoke memories like these. CDs don't have the same effect on me, not even ones I've had since 1989, the first time I had a CD player. As for downloads, I don't go for them as I don't have an emotional attachment to them. I know this is strange for the younger generation who don't know any different but..trust me, if you ever get the chance to stay at an "oldies" house like mine, make sure they play their vinyl LPs, you might be pleasantly surprised. Nowadays, I have a Project turntable, which isn't expensive but a lot dearer than my first plug and play lol.
My "Signals" LP has been reborn!
Favourite tracks? All of them, although, if you're into the Space Shuttle, "Countdown" is amazing, it really is. "Subdivisions" is pretty good as well.
Enjoy!

I still have lots and lots of LPs...the problem is...I sold my player about 2 years ago. Now, even if I wanted to listen to my records, I can't. (Not sure why I sold my player?) I also have lots and lots of CDs but I haven't listened to them in years. Maybe I will soon. Maybe I'll even "rip" them to my computer where I listen to most of my music. Maybe I should send you my LPs?

There is a record player you can buy that you can connect to your computer and it rips them into downloads..or something.
LPs and CDs are the only items I've hoarded (or some would say "collected") over the years. Why memories of my LPs are clearer than my CDs I don't know. I even remember buying my last ever LP. It was "Wings of Heaven" by Magnum. It cost me about £6.49 and I wasn't happy paying such an extotionate amount of money for an album! Still got it though!
You could send me the LPs if you like.
Unfortunately, I keep only some of mine in a case and the rest are kept in drawers in my bedroom at Mum's..not the ideal place for them. I'm amazed they still play, to be honest! If I had the room here I would bring all the LPs to Carlisle.

Hi Tamara,
Some of the modern music isn't that great either is it? It's all boom boom with no lyrics now.

Too right! How I wish I'd seen them play live. They don't come to the UK very often.

I so miss my LP's, I donated mine to a family when I lost my house. All I can say about your songs is that I was sitting here jamming.
