Will the Kolkata Knight Riders get any support from the home crowd?

hi friends. you probably must have heard it. ganguly was not bought eventhough he was the 9th player in the auction .when he was not picked even after 3rd time, the unhappy kolkata crowd started buring effigys of SRK and the knight riders. SRK did say that he will talk with dada when he returns to india about including him in the talent hunt squad. so the major questions remains. will the KKR get any kinda support from the Kolkata crowd considering he was not picked up by their home franchise? will they be contend to see dada carrying bottles to the other players of KKR if he did accept SRK's proposal? may be the KKR group is banking on the stuff that the following 4 months will tame the crowd a little. but the thing is dada's cricketing career is almost over

KKR is going to miss the support of people in kolkatta.KKR is one team which make profit even though they didnt reach semis till now. It was all because of the support of people there. But can you imagine what will be the response of people all over india if they are not going to reach semis this year also. I think dada will come as the mentor of kkr and they will get the support back.Even if dada is not coming, if they can prove them self then people are going to support them. So the important thing is to reach atleast semi.

Yes Kolkatans cricket fans are disappointed at not seeing Dada in the team. It is also true that SRK is worried sick about this & extended an olive branch to Gangully. Now, coming to your question..Despite the resentment & the absence of any stars from the state, Every state in India has enough crazy people to fill up satdiums double the capacity of saltlake stadiums. I am willing to bet my last penny on the fact that stadiums will be packed. Many younger fans have a very practical attitude towards sports & will flock to the stadia just to have a good time. The charm of IPL & cricket is too good to be resisted.

very much disappointing to me and also fro all the Dada fans.I never thought of such a situation will occur. But one thing is sure without Dada I think no one will enjoy the cricket in Kolkata. Its a very sad thing that most probably Ganguly will not be there in the fourth edition of IPL.What the hell the 10 franchises were doing in the auction hall....????.I think now the Eden Gardens will be very calm and quite. It will be KKR's luck if hey get half of the crowd to watch the IPL match there.Ganguly is having such a magnetic personality and now see what is going to happen....

your right, a great batsman, once the face of india's cricket, upon a time more loved than tendulkar itself, butall that was once. Dada is no longer the same, he has aged and has lost the aggression in him. so i think SRK made a right choice not to waste the precious money on him, since he was trying very hard to get a winning combo for his team. But on the homefront, dada is regarded as a hero. so naturally the crowd was agitated and started burning effigies of him. but they must also understand that SRK was trying to bring 'kolkata' fame(eventhough he was getting million for that, but that doesnt matter us). therefore i request the koklkata ppl to put behind the dada matter and cheer for the knight riders.

yes dada was a gr8 cricket player and once the face of cricket of india. But that is long over, dada has aged and doesnt have the fire in him any longer. therefore SRK had every right not so waste money on him as he his team desperately needs a winning bout in the IPL. BUT, on the home front dada is regerded as a hero, a saviour. so naturally the kolkata crowd was agitated and started burning effigies of SRK. BUT also they must realise that SRK was doing so because he wanted 'kolkata' to win(eventhough hes earning millions due to it). at last we can only wish that the kolkata ppl forget the dada matter and cheer for the knight riders.

KKR has done a major revamp. They have let go of all their players including home based players such as Ganguly, Saha, Dinda etc. Except for Manoj Tiwary who is a local lad and Shakib ul Hasan who will bring in some support from the Bengali speaking locals, it is tough to see any other local attraction in the team. It would be really interesting to see how the crowd reacts to this team. Bengal supporters usually are very vociferous in their choices and the first game of the IPL at home for them could set the tone!! Cheers! Ram

Well its kind of sad the Dada will not play again for Knight Riders atleast for next 2 years. Its is really obvious that the kolkata crowd will be unhappy with KKR's decision but Ganguly stated that if he doesn't play for any team then he will supporting KKR and helping them as a staff. Well it is really justified that why KKR didn't retain Sourav because he is too old now doesn't play as well he used to in the old days, still i think there should be another chance which should have been provided to him but i guess its over for Dada!

Crowd of Kolkata is very emotional when it comes to Ganguly. When he was not selected for Indian team , people at Eden gardens supported SA instead of India ,so no wonder that Srk is trying to get Ganguly in coaching staff of KKR.We may see many people boycotting IPL matches to be held in Kolkata.

It is not only the general public but even the knowledgeable cricket pandits smell rat in exclusion of Dada from forthcoming IPL. There is a strong debate on TV channels regarding not bidding for Dada by any of IPL franchises. If we see last years IPL record Ganguly stands 5th in total runs scored. He also fielded creditably. He is working hard to keep himself fit to play for the IPL. He even ops to play in Ranji Trophy for that. Calcutta public is definitely not happy about this and going by the past record I am afraid they may go to the extent of disturbing IPL matches in Calcutta.

Well its very disappointing that dada would not be in kkr dada was the only real star why i liked kkr team srk has done a big injustice towards dada and certainly if dada is not in the teams many kolkata fans would not enjoy watching the team play without him
