Oprah has pissed me off bad this time!

i loved my "discovery health" channel on cable... i knew that oprah was gonna start a new channel but DID NOT know it was going to be her taking over and renaming the discovery health channel.. shes left a few shows but also filled them with like behind the scenes crap about her show.. i loved all the shows on that channel and i dont understand why discovery channel let go of discovery health so easy!! i mean there is no way you can say its the same channel as before..
why did she have to kill one of my favorite channels.. she already is running the freaking world she needs to stay away from my channel!!
anyone else irritated at this? do you like OWN better than DISCOVERY HEALTH? are you sick of oprah like i am?

I'm pissed, too. I loved Discovery Health. I turned it on for the first time since she changed it to OWN and saw that "The Color Purple" (she was in that movie) was playing on it! I immediately thought, "Oh, okay, here we go... it's going to be all about Oprah."
I'm glad that she left a few of the old shows on (I'm watching Mystery Diagnosis righ now... one of my favorites) but really upset that she's changed not only the majority of the shows but also the content of the channel.
Why couldn't she simply have created her own channel instead of taking over an established one? I guess that proves that money can buy almost anything.

thats what im saying! i dont see why discovery channel just let go their health channel! its not like there arent enough numbers on cable that dont have anything on them that she could have taken over.. its gotten a little better since she started but that could be because her herself admitted to getting non stop hate mail from people mad like us.. her new shows are ok but to me it should just be health only.. i love health stuff and now its just like having another WE or Lifetime network

i think if she paid for it could be the reason why they let the program go.
if she has a channel now maybe it will be all about her, oprah reached a point that she is now so different from other celebrities, a real queen of creation, like i never saw someone taking their entire public in a plane and stuff like that

i just dont see why she couldnt have made a NEW channel and not taken over an regular one.. its not like they have made anything to replace the HEALTH of Discovery Health channel anywhere and she sure isnt doing health 24/7

I used to like her until She took her truck load of things down to the Katrina survivors. With all her money and connections you would think she could do more Than deliver a truck load of goods. Now at the same time Dr Phil was finding place for people to live new jobs and getting families back together.
Are people really interested in what goes on behind the scenes any way. I also disagree with her political views.

I never "liked" her one way or another, but when she went and built a school and is funding it herself down in Africa...instead of doing the same here in this country that made her what she is and instead of helping children here in this county whose parents are who support her... that was all I cared to think of her. Now, taking a channel for herself..sorry.. she is just in it for the money.
I will also never forget watching a show of hers one time with a "money guru" on there telling us how to save money. He only stated ways that so many of us have been doing for years and years...but he mentioned reusing ziplock baggies...and she pipes up with "Oh, I do that!". YEAH RIGHT! Did she really expect us to think that she actually washes and reuses a little ol ziplock baggie! Are you serious!?!? That was just demorlizing to those of us that have been doing that for years, just to get by and here she is tooting her horn for doing it and odds are she hardly ever even enters her kitchen!!!

her school is about to be shut down btw..
i just cant understand how some one could be so narcissistic that their name has to be on everything they do! i mean i wouldnt want my name or nickname etc on everything i did as company names.. but nope she has harpo (oprah backwards) and now own.. its like god she just likes having her name seen everywhere

At the risk of getting the wrath of Oprah's fanatics, I feel similar to how you do. I loved the show Dr. G: Medical Examiner. And several other shows that channel sired were ones I enjoyed. I think Oprah kept one show, Medical Mysteries or something like that. But when I found out about six months ago that she was taking over Discovery Health, I was greatly disappointed. I checked out her new channel. So boring! Granted, I'm not an Oprah fan. So maybe if I liked her more, I'd be more in to the shows she is promoting.

her new shows are ok at best.. i thought she was going to have a new channel as in a different number/channel that was going to become a channel.. when i heard it was her taking over the discovery health channel my heart sank! the shows she kept are all in old old re-runs.. most of it is oprah behind the scenes and her friend/lover/?? gales show is HORRIBLE.. i dont get why discovery just gave up the channel.. they have so many yet its like they think the health one didnt matter

My understanding is that alot of those shows have been moved to truTV. I am not sick of her, but i do wonder what she is going to do next...buy a state and name it after herself??

i watch TruTv all the time and sadly nothing has been moved.. all the good shows i loved have literally disappeared with crap.. i do like some of her new shows BUT taking a former health channel and then just making it your own thing is just annoying.. i think she just has to see her name or face on everything.. i just dont understand why she couldnt have just been a NEW channel and not take over an established channel

Watch..she does own an island and it is named after her....we just dont know about it yet..why wont she retire all ready...I think she is in it for the notoriety more than anything else...heaven forbid we forget about her.
