Reports are that the parents of the shooter in AZ are moaning the acts of their son. After all the clarion calls of annie/andy get your guns snet in so many codes, it's clear to moi that people are in fact actin' like they ain't got no mamma. Did the parents know of their own son's behaviors .. if so, who did they inform?

If his classmates who have commented on how unstable and weird this guy behaved in school, i would imagine his parents surely would have noticed something was very wrong with him.it's just so sad and frustrating that these thigs come out when it's too late and people have lose their lives, before anything is done about it.

It's just so horrible! Information is yet fluid in this matter ... I've not heard if or how this shooter has plead .. whether he will plead insanity or what! I suppose the system is conducting a pre-trial mental health evaulation that will determine whether or not he is stable to stand trial. It is difficult for me to believe that his parents had no clue of his anti-social problems. Without all the facts,I'm won't blame his parents, not yet ... however, somewhere I read .. children are not quick to listen to their parents but, they are quick to imitate them.

I've listened to news reports where they say this guy isn't as unstable as they thought. He was able to answer the judges questions very clearly and intelligently. He responded to all questions asked of him and did so withot rantng or acting strangely. He also understands the charges made against him and they were amazed at how polite he was. As far as his plea is concerned they didn't mention whether his lawyer will plead insanity, which i think will be a hard thing to do,since his behavior in court seems to show he knew exactly what he was doing. I guess we'll never really know what motivated him to commit this horrible crime.

unless either of you know exactly what is wrong with the man, exactly how he behaved, are a qualified psychologist, and know what mental health services exist in arizona, i don't think you are really in a position to speculate how insane the man is and judge what his parents did or didn't do.

I tend to feel sorry for his parents, to be honest. I don't know what kind of people they were, how friendly they were or how they got along with their neighbors, but I can only imagine how they feeling knowing what their son did. He was of legal age, so they really didn't have much control over his actions. Also, children are often pretty good at hiding things from their parents. That applies even to adult children and I'd guess to those who aren't entirely stable mentally and emotionally. I would hope that if his parents knew of his behavior and believed he could be a danger to himself and others they would have told someone and done all they could to get him the help he needed but I'm sure many parents in this type of situation would be in denial, not wanting to face up to what their own child could actually be capable of. I also honestly feel very sorry for the parents. As more and more information is publicized, I believe I heard that on the morning of this incident, the father was actually in pursuit of his son as he ran away from their home with some sort of black bag. Clearly, this has to be most difficult for the parents.
