Exorcism is not something you only see in Hollywood movies. It's much beyond what many people could imagine. Exorcism took places in many countries and in different religions (Muslims, Christians, Catholics,Buddists and etc). The reason I raised this question is because, Exorcism has been viewed lightly as something eerie, a ghostly encounters, a horror movie (perhaps) and something which is wrongly interpreted. For me to broaden this topic of Exorcism, all perspectives are welcome. Thank you.

Exorcism works because the people that witness believe it will. Maybe an exorcism gives each person perspective that they hadn't held before. We see in movies, where people have been possessed by the devil, and once exorcised have become cured. I wonder how much is the devil and how much is insanity? Babies that cry a lot, respond to soothing tones and soft music. Is it the tone of the person, performing the ritual, that relaxes and dispels the unrest. I have an open mind on exorcism, it works, there are many successes. I do wonder, however, if all is as cut and dried as we perceive or whether there is an explicable answer to the success.
