My father is a type 2 diabetic and he's now 77 years old still with sharp mind but already frail body. His diabetes cropped up when he reached his senior year. Though he has been that for many years, he is able to maintain his not having it too much. He eats lots of vegetables, exercises and chooses his fruits or he eats only a tolerable portion. But what he cannot do without is drinking with his friends once in a while. Though moderately, his blood sugar would shut up the next day. We cannot dissuade him from drinking once in a while though. Will his drinking once in a while aggravate his diabetes?

My husband is Type 2 diabetic and is getting much better during the day and at night. However his sugar is high in the morning and he does not eat anthing before going to bed. He may have a small glass of water at night, but he nor I puts an sugar in it. I am not sure what we can do to lower his sugar in the morning. Does anyone know what we can do to get his sugar lower in the morning. He tests two hours after he wakes up.
