Last Monday when I visited my near by bank I was surprised see a long queue, there where also people shouting at two of staffs. When enquired it was known that the computers were not working, so the account statements are unavailable to given to those needed. May be it is a technical problems. May be they should have kept some manual entries too. Anyhow now banks are becoming much of computerized and many advantages and disadvantages too arises. I feel may be due computerization lots of online transaction are coming up. ATMs too are controlled with this networking. So many advantages are got after the banks got computerized. At times if one needs to get some of his complaints or manual services settled I feel it mostly depends upon human staffs. I feel it is part of facing developmental changes in technology.

I had a bad time withdrawing once. My money was debited and I had to wait for 5 working days to get it. That's the problem sometimes of old ATM machines.

I worked formerly in a bank so i know that when the bank goes offline , it means a problem to the employees and to the clients.
When a bank goes offline, it means there might be some problem in the network specially on their main office. The one in-charge of the bank will automatically call their head office of what's wrong and for how long will it be most likely. From there they could tell the clients what time more or less would the network will come back .
In this regard, when this happens they will manually have the transactions done thereby slowing them down hence the long queue of clients.
So, let's be patient with the bank employees because they themselves do not want it that way. They have to do some overtime to input all the manual transactions they have done during the said offline mode afterward.

I feel the bankers should be ready to face such situation as the clients may urgently need money like if they have buy medicine, anyone serious in hospitals, paying dues in time, loans repayments, settling debts, marriage expenses, party expenses, educational expenses, household expenses so on goes the urgent needs of clients. Many of those needs of clients are time bound.

We do not have that problem, because here in Canada there are some people who do not like the ATms - mostly older people and I mean older in attitude and not in age - who hate technology and love to talk, holding up the line, etc.
But sometimes when they change the computer, or it goes down, there has to be a back up especially when it comes to paying online. Most of the time, it is just for a few hours or so, but what happens when it goes down for a few days?

Hello Sham,
It means if the computer does not work then we can’t do any transaction in bank. I heard many times from my colleague as he spent much time in bank, there was long queue, just blaming the failure in computer system. I think the bank should take care of this and prepare a manual entry or keep print outs from the day to day transactions so that they can avoid the unnecessary blames to computer. Then they don’t want to face the unhappiness from their customers.
We really want to think, are we heading to progress or something opposite to the same.
